V quick question
What are the keys for the custom views? I'm looking to make a nice edited movie, i've got editing skills but not LFS view controls LOL.

If someone could point me in the right direction, apologies if this is better suited in the movies or assitance section, I wasn't sure.

Shift + U
Hehe thanks I knew that bit but I believe you can change the Field of view and unattach the camera from the car too, those are the ones i'm looking for

options->view->custom
i dont think they are buttons, i think thats in the "Options" Menu...
Shift + U does unattach from the car :s
Ahh ok, was wondering how people got the 'zoom' effect in the movies.

When I shift U, it goes to an external view that you can move around, but still seems attached to the car
It's all done from shift-u, you can change the field of view and make the camera unlocked from other cars, but you need to have the menu's visible when you do this, then hide them again to actually record.

I've asked for FOV to be put on the mouse wheel as it needs a realtime method of editing it for camera work, but no word yet on whether it'll get implemented.

press space, and there will be an option to set "follow car" to no (or something like that)
you can zoom in and out using your "5" and "6" keys

Gotcha, good call, that'd be much better, as you can get some cracking effects with the old 'Dolly in, Zoom out' trick.

Ok i'll get cracking, see you in a few months

Thanks folks

oh and thanks too Joen
Use "5" and "6" to zoom the FOV, but this also screws up the perspective (will look stretched out when zoomed out). You can use the arrow keys to pan left/right and forwards/backwards (different than zooming the FOV) when you are in shift-U. I would like to see a keystroke for rotating the camera as well. You would think using the shift + arrowkeys would do that, but I don't believe it does.
