The online racing simulator
Rfactor vs LFS

whats a real shame is that for 2 years you havent stoped your bashing of lfs, and the usual "whatever in fashion isi product" propaganda.
anyone can make up their mind and anyone can see whats the best online racing sim.
you and deggis sound like a broken record and i wish we would get better trolls , with creativity, and proper ill intended acute thought. you guys just bore me. keep trashing this sim in bhms or rsc and whatever you want but if u wanna trash it here pick better references than plastic toy rfactor, or no one here will give a shit at what you are saying. its not even a sim, and worse, its not fun at all.
he isnt really trolling here. just defending rfactor from what i've seen
It's a shame that some people cannot understand that different persons have different priorities. Regarding me, for example, the most important point in a sim, especially since I've experienced LFS, is the physics model and the FFB response. These two must fit together and convince me. rFactor does not do that in the slightest. I couldn't care less about the cars and tracks and modding capabilities of rF - the most important thing for me is physics/FFB, and rF simply fails at that for me. Therefore, I consider rF to be worthless, because frankly, it is worthless to me.

The same works the other way round, too. Some people are satisfied with a, from my point of view, moderately realistic physics model, but are much more critical regarding the illusion of racing. They crave the atmosphere, the realistic way races take place, etc. LFS doesn't have that - it has a funny reset button, it has arcadish race management (no false starts, ...) and it doesn't have a very "professional" look to it. I can all agree on that, but it simply doesn't matter to me.

X vs Y threads should be closed right away, IMO. Especially if opened on non neutral grounds. Well, atleast here you can somewhat discuss it without getting flamed.

E: @KiD: LOL, the irony
i agree android. that's what sets lfs apart for me the ffb and physics are the best by a large margin imo.
And, from a driving point of view, the sound. No other sim has so much aural feedback (apart from maybe nKP, but it's so long since I bothered to load that piece of crap that I can't honestly remember).

LOL, obviously you can't read (or write?).

And funny that you mentioned trolls... http://www.kunos-bside.net/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=121 + your 10 banned trolling profiles in rscnet.org
I have RFactor and LFS, the reason i don't play Rfactor much anymore is because of the amount of mods out there. I can just load up LFS and join a server, no need to find an up to date version of a car or track. Also LFS runs a lot better on my pc because its less dependant on the processor.
The last time I play rFactor more, and I have no idea why,I just enjoy it I guess. I use rFactor as my offline sim,so I have no problems online either,as I only run the standard ISI stuff,no good mods released yet.

Monza will be released soon,so cant wait for that. rFactor is definately a fun game, and I surely had alot cleaner races then I had with LFS.

you act like an **** for years. sad one at that. at least if we could see any positivity in your acts, but we dont. and everyone knows it. no need to prove it once again by attempting to bring mangled stories and rules from other places and apply them here. your fixation with the collective fascizoid moral of rsc is in such a state you wanna amplify it and apply it across the web. forums dont cure personal depressions. tbh i dont even think you have enough neurons to be depressed. its just plain lack of talent to be happy.
Yeah kid, ur a great ambassador for LFS

Last i checked, rfactor opened up with a circular giant marble texture spinning with a car on top with reflections in the worse cheesy style of the 80s.
Of course all that cheesyness fits well with the ui and fonts and colors, finished up with fugly fantasy cars on a non realtime ui.

So "looking pro" surely isnt a factor where isi is ahead, imho.

UIwise lfs can improve, rf would have to be rebuilt.

Why do I get the idea your "review" is a little bit biased
RIP Steve Irwin. A freak and horrible accident.
hmmmm, must get round to try rTractor and nKPoo one day...

EDIT - JeffR, its a mark of respect (ie mine says "RIP")
Not sure what it is objectively speaking, but Kid's posts always bring a smile to my face. "Over the top" always inspires me I guess; long live Kid!

Even funnier. You should write a book, Dr. Kid.

at least i read the posts i reply to. stop posting like an american clan.
its not this thread specifically and per se. its the continuous (do a find all posts by this user if u really care) boring broken record negative unconstructive and worse ignorant attitude that bores me.
no one here is running for ambassador dude. u have no idea what i did for this sim and tbh you dont have to.
its this mediocre teenager mentality that flooded this forum that pisses me off. its "adult" to ignore and let it be, always the confortable route, but, ah... **** it.
it would sing a different tune, if it was run with a vision thats for sure.
Quote from keiran :He didn't mention the netcode ... I understood his post as being about the lack of pick up races when compared to LFS.

yeah thats what i meant
I'll be keeping my avatar for a while, as he was a great ambassador for the natural world. He died doing what he loved. I'm not going to not mention him (picturally) just because he's no longer amongst the living.

In fact, I think (OT) that September should be 'Remember Irwin Avatar Month'.

so do i, thus <<<

but its a personal choice, so ill just let poeple decide by themselves

theres a few good mods, although a lot are crap. the only ones really worth having are Meganes, CTDP f1 2005, F1 1979 and the legends cars demo. those are all well made and pretty polished, but a few of the mods are pretty poor.

You must get VERY bored by yourself then!

I didn't mean the menus in particular, but the overall package. I know that there simply wasn't time (dedicated) to work on that yet, and this is also really the only point where LFS could improve quite alot (again, I mean the "race illusion"). There are just too many things that destroy/disort that professional picture, and I think this is also the #1 reason why LFS gets labeled "arcadey" so frequently.

Now, for the menus, I wouldn't want to trade them ever, thanks. I still shudder at the usability of the rF - or from what I've seen, ISI related menus in general. But you're really preaching to the choir if you try to justify LFS' situation for me
Quote from AndroidXP :...and it doesn't have a very "professional" look to it...

why the hell u expect us we want it "professional"??!

we love it the way it is, doubleclick lfs, multiplayer ,server, go...

so much peopz love the way it is, and no one need a silly "professional" (overloaded) look like f.ex. rF has.
Goddamnit, for the last time: I didn't mean the menus in particular, I'm quite happy with them
