Thehemuli and Rony collide, Rony ends up in the grass
Thehemuli made a move on the inside at the corner entry and got significantly alongside and had the right to space. Rony left sufficient amount of space inside, but was aiming for tighter exit as opposed to Thehemuli going for wider line, thus the cars collided. Looking into the line and speed of Thehemuli through the corner, we determined he would have left a sufficient amount of space for Rony on the exit even if there was no collision. Neither of the drivers are predominantly to be blamed, rendering this a racing incident.

Our three race long visit to Rockingham ended with some touring car racing, featuring the Cammera JGT mod at the Historic layout with the first chicane removed. On the table was the first place of the quarterly championship, which grants the ability to choose our next track environment. All of the candidates took part in the event along with others, a total of 19 drivers set a laptime during qualifying.
The only driver to set a lap below the 1:22.00 mark was our championship leader
Suforr, who claimed his second pole position in a row. Alongside him in P2 was
Dodislaw, almost half a second behind. In the second row there were
Kyril and the well known rear-engined car enjoyer
Rony. Top five was closed out by
Thehemuli.
The race start was quite uneventful for the top five, as Thehemuli was the only one to lose positions, dropping down to fifth to eighth already before the first corner. On lap 2, Dodislaw made a costly mistake into the first chicane, hitting the tyre stacks and dropping down to dead last. This promoted Kyril to P2, who held it until the end while unable to catch the polesitter Suforr who went on to claim his first win in ARC. Thehemuli climbed his way back up the order to complete the podium, having an incident with the fourth place finisher Rony in the process. The incident was reviewed by the other organizing members, but nothing worth penalizing was found. Fifth to cross the finish line was
Mouseman, who made an impressive climb up the field after being in last place after lap 1.
After claiming two podium finishes and one fourth place in Rockingham, Suforr sits on top of our first quartely standings. He got to choose where we race for the next three months and selected Fern Bay, which is our first repeated track environment in ARC. Last year for the road tyre round we used a FWD TBO class car, this time we will begin our 2nd quarter with something different. Stay tuned to find out more!
