Which would you rather see?
A) Michael Schumacher win the championship and cement his place in history with an 8th world title, going out on a high.

or

B) Fernando Alonso hold on and win with what looks like an inferior car and in the face of what many would call blatant favoritism from the stewards.

I persnoally am undecided as i can see both outcomes would be nice, would like to hear what others think though. NO FLAMING everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
B) of course.
B) Simply because I don't like Schumi. I could care less about Alonso, though.
A) definitely. Alonso isn't a great in my opinion, and never will be. Fortunately he's joining McLaren and will do badly for many many years.

For me B) would be the lesser of the evils, but it's a rather difficult decision:
Schumacher is a pretty good driver, but I don't like the attitude he gained over the years. And I don't like the FIA's latest decisions, which all seems to favor Ferrari. I don't want Alonso to win either, because I don't think he's a good driver, I would rather like to see Kimi or Jenson or maybe some other guy winning the championship, but that won't happen this year
Hopefully next year, when Ferrari loses their No.1 driver and Alonso gets a car which rarely makes it to the finish-line
A, because Alonso is just someone like Cristiano Ronaldo.

Even if he is good, you still want to smack something into his face.
Just for the fun of it.

I have exactly the same feeling with M. Schumacher.
That is just fair... I can understand people disliking Schumacher for the same reasons I dislike Alonso.

It's just which arrogant a..hole you rather prefer.

Still wanting to hit Alonso hard...
A)

Simply because, I want to look back in 10/20/30 years when the next gen of comentators are talking about how great Schumey was, I'd like to look to my son/daughter and say I watched him when I was yehy big.

Bit, that doesnt mean I like Schumey as a person.
B. The bootmender should have had his racing licence taken away for good when he rammed JV. In LFS wreckers are banned for life, they should be IRL as well.
A)

Because I dislike Alonso even more than Schumacher.

Ditto.

Besides, I don't think the Renault is all that inferior. And I don't agree with the favoritism part either. Alonso behaved like a twat on multiple occasions this season, and Schumacher has been punished for crossing lines too.

B)

Schumacher allready has to many wins which IMHO he didn't deserve
B), because of all the cr*p FIA pulled to practically hand over the title to the retiring Schuhmacher...

As for A), I personally couldn't enjoy winning the title over this...

A) As i have been a Schumey fan since 1993, would be nice to see him go out on a high.

A. I'm not a Schumi fan, and never have been. I quite dislike the man, but I hate Alonso. So I'd rather have the prick to win the title than the ****.
A) because i want to be able to say to me grandkids that i was there to see him win and retire.
B)

I would quite happily see Schumacher win an 8th championship, but not now with the decisions that have been made against Alonso & Renault. I would rather he won it outright without assisstance.

Having watched Massa's lap onboard I find it absolutely ridiculous that they even considered that he was held up. I could go on for days about this, but frankly I can't be arsed and I feel as though the politics of F1 have now spoiled what could have been an even more exciting end to this season.

I am not an Alonso or Schumacher fan, but for the reasons above I would prefer Alonso to win now - largely to stick it to seemingly stupid politics of F1 that are intruding on the racing.
C) Seeing Mosley & Bernie getting kicked in the ass in a live TV broadcast

Schiumi is and always will be a v talented racer no matter what u think of him..he proved himeself. now i think that alonso and espacialy Renault cant achieve just yet the performance of the ferrari and schumi....or evin worse...wont achieve that!
is there any driver out there that is both very competent and a decent character as well?

i do not remember Senna behaving like these guys...

(not that i remember Senna at all, being born 1980 and all that...)

Don't like Schumacher. I hope his legacy of cheats is the thing people remember better than his wins. The things you achieve should always be considered in the light of the methods you use to achieve them.

Same here

And the fact that Schumi is going to give it is all for his season/career ending... sure, why not give some support, he has a lot to accomplish in just 3 more races, and if he wins another title, good for him, he's earned it. I don't care if he has suspicious ways of winning, motorsports is all about that, and in my opinion Schumacher would be a better name engraved on the trophy than another win for Alonso. We won't see Schumi anymore after 2006, so what if he wins. 2007 will probably be the most interesting, as it will really give new drivers a chance to shine with better (or worse) teams. I just want to see if Alonso can do it next year for McLaren, or if Kimi can do it for Ferrari.

As the 2006 season is coming to an end, I am actually looking forward to 2007 more than if Alonso or Schumi wins this season to be honest. Because wherever that pair goes, there always seems to be dirty politics, and it is ruining the sport.

Alonso is as ruthless as Montoya in my opinion, he just doesn't scream like Juan
