I Have An Idea For A New Track Set for S3
The set is called Applewood, and I'll try to put up photos of the layout soon, but I've made 4 tracks for it:

GP
GP Long
City
Rallycross

I'm going to ask you what you think of putting in an oval, but a different shape than Kyoto.

Tell me what you think of making this Track Set for S3
we need more info on it. Ambience, locale, elevations, speed, length, etc etc etc.
Am i blind?? I see no pics!! The names of the layout tell me nothing to be honest.
Well, here are the stats.

I am working on a 3D Render for pics

GP:
Elevation: short uphill distance sector 1 before turn 2
about 10 degrees uphill.
Average speed is about 98 mph
length: about 2.7 miles long, from start to finish
Not a city, usual race setting is dusk.
Its pretty much all a backroad track but paved
There are farms and little fruit stands behind the walls and such.
I could make a basic layout in Autocross if you wanted, but that would be much smaller.

I'll get more info as I get the renders out.
I'm working hard, now.
is it going to be a "rally-tarmac" track?
Donnington!!!!!!
Quote from Scrabby :is it going to be a "rally-tarmac" track?

No, but the RallyX track will.
ok, but when will we get a preview of the tack?
Yeah, i'm wondering that too...
Soon
I'm trying to get a good 3D Rendering program....
erm, how exactly have you made 4 new tracks fro S3 when it is not even out yet? Is there some concept here I am not understanding, or is this just all new tracks in your imagination at this stage?
He has an "idea" for a track set. But seeing he intended to render it, and at the moment he's looking for a rendering program, he's lost some of his credibility

yea, and i dont understand why hes suggesting a track for S3 when S2 isnt even done yet

I think showing your ideas by modelling a complete track is a bit, well...overkill.
There's a difference between rendering and modelling. The former taking much, much, much, much more time.
The layout is what matters, and apart from elevation changes and such that shows up fine in a 2D overview.
I find personally I can't get a feel for what a track would be from a track map at all. I need to see a 3D view of it, preferrably with some scenery, before I can really see what a track would be

True, true. But modelling a complete track with scenery would take him much more than just a couple of hours. I'm sure Eric would agree

You don't need to model a lot. An untextured spline in 3d-space is enough to see and imagin the track. Put a random approximation of a low-poly-car on it to show how wide/long sections are and you're ready.

He's only comming with, suggestions. And want's like everyone else a better LFS

How about a Airport track ?
I think an Airport track would make a nice addition. But first, I want a more flowing track with major elevations.. a la Mosport. (I know I know, I've said it hundreds of times...)

A realistic airport track would have barely any scenery, so you will have a big problem creating some sense of speed. I'd say it's a bad idea.
How about just taking all the best parts from Spa, Mosport, Laguna Seca and Bathurst (plus an oval track like bristol):

Add the Nordschleife, Suzuka and Monza and we won't see Eric ever again.

hyperactive ur a smart man lol. That would be really fun going up eau rouge then going back down the corkscrew. Also i have thought it would be really fun to race around a bristol type track Or a double groove oval track.Instead of the one we got now u could never race around the outside of someone or race sideby side.
BTW everyone i know who has raced laguna said that the corkscrew aint the great but the corner after it is the coolest corner ever and the scariest lol.

That's a really good idea!
