GT FIA racing game?
is GT FIA online??..it looks pretty good...any one got any ideas?
ERROR ERROR, CANNOT COMPUTE

We do not know of such game, error error
do you mean GTR? Or maybe GTR2?

Either way, the game isn't all that great imho. Although, I am biased as I am not too fond of Simbin.
if you dont care too much about the physics not being as good as LFS, or the bugyness of the engine... it is quite fun
Small tip: Get over 120mph in the highest gear, then shift QUICKLY down to 1st.
GTR?

Sorry, this forum has banned discussion about crap.
Its good fun. Dont listen to the fan boys. Although i would wait for the WTCC game as it will have more features and will be out before christmas apparently.
Give it some time, and it is actually quite fun. But just dont start it 20 minutes before bed and expect to have a race! Takes a good few hours to really get into it.
I have the same problem with GTR/2 that I have with all ISI-enginge-based games: They just don't feel right, they all feel like NFS, as if you weren't driving a car, completely detached...
In LFS I got that feeling just right... dunno why...

But I shouldn't rant about my personal preferences, if you're tolerant enough, you can accept GTR. Even I play NFS2SE or NFS4 occasionally. Hmm... more like rarely, but I do from time to time (mostly because of splitscreen and two wheels)
Moved to off topic...

I don't even look at screenshots of anything ISI based anymore. Let alone download demos or even play them. Here's a thread about physics.

I've seen tyre curves from the full game and... surprise surprise - they are absolutely identical to the ones in the demo meaning ~35% inaccuracy (disclaimer: accodring to data I've seen, which I have good reason to believe is accurate), and more still once the stuff is added up probably.

Its fun to play around with and all, but I'd only really enjoy it if there wasn't LFS.

And it will be done by 'new' (current) SimBin dev team and not by Blimey Games who did GTL and GTR2 as a subcontractor. Blimey was formed when Ian Bell and half the original SimBin team left. Although this WTCC game will be still using ISI engine this could mean that they might do some things differently.
after only 3 laps, i just barely beat the real life WR on monza with the 550 using medium tires. But to be fair i've driven monza in many games and i'd done a few laps with the bMW m3 before that.

I bet the aliens of gtr2 will probably be at least 6 seconds faster than me.

I saw a small PR-glimpse of that WTCC game based on the ISI engine on TV (during a WTCC coverage).
They let the WTCC drivers have a go at the game and those were quite happy with the tracks. They didn't expect to see such a close remodelling of the real tracks. However they didn't even think of comparing the driving behaviour to real life. One of them said that the cars don't behave like real cars at all, but that'd be normal for games.
That was an interesting thought. The advertisments for the ISI games say "Hey, real driver like this so this must be realistic", but the drivers don't compare the driving behaviour at all. They think of PC racing games as Need For Speed-arcade games and immediately put ISI games into the same category. Of course it's fun. A different driver said: "Hey, I can crash my car and not be hurt, great fun!" They aren't even thinking about comparing the virtual car's behaviour to the real cars.

i noticed that as well. no comparing how they took this or that turn with a bit of liftoff and a flick of the wrist. or how the breaking and cornering technique for that corner is the same.
The clip you're talking about is this? Did Jörg Muller say that cars don't behave like real cars? (I don't speak German )

Well it's PR stuff after all. I hope they where using driving aids (lol). At least someone used chase camera view.

I have higher hopes for Race than GTR2. Because of the Simbin/Blimey contract stuff GTR2 feels like it's done with lack of motivation. At least that aspect should be different with this WTCC game. Best news is that SimBin will forget ISI engine after this, according to some little birdie at SimBin.

LOL at Jörg Müller:

"Yes, this is great fun, especially because you can really kick the other cars off the track without damaging your own car, that's great fun, that's how it should be."

LMAO, added to signature!
Yeah it is WTCC / Race *cough*

Ummm, that video is quite amusing considering that there are few things that look a bit odd. I noticed one shot of the car turning left onto the longer GP course at Brands Hatch and the car was having some really wierd FWD understeer physics. It would pull, then go out, pull, then go out, etc etc. If that is how they did the FWD, then that is sad, any game with FWD physics like that is really poor. Perhaps they had aids on, or it is just wrong. Blah, I dunno, Simbin's Marketing department is way above anything else made or presented by Simbin, and that is bad.

Nah, practically every simulation team or company has a G25 Simbin (Europe), ISI/rFactor (US), and even you know who....
You bastard.
