Hi,

First off, I love LFS, great game, great online fun and real racing. Kudus to the game developpers.

Now, I have a problem. It happens only with some versions of nVidia graphic drivers.

nVidia 66.93 --- no problems at all

nVidia 81.98 --- Freezes

nVidia 91.47 --- Freezes

Well, I could use the 66.93 version to run LFS, but then I couldn't enjoy some other simulators, like GTR 2. This one requires me to install latest drivers.

Before I go and try every driver version from nVidia, maybe someone could have the same problem and tell me the right one to use.

Question is, does anyone know wich nvidia version will do for both games ?

Or, does game developpers can do anything about this ?

System Specs:

MSI K8T Neo 2 MoBo
Athlon 64 3200 +
2 Gb DDR dual channel mode
XFX Geforce 6600 GT AGP
SoundBlaster Live 5.1
120 Gb SATA Harddisk
Microsoft Sidewinder FFW thru sblive game port
MS Windows XP 64 Prof. SP2

I'm not overclocking anything...

This for sure no problem caused by the LFS devs, it's either overheating your GPU, or the driver changes some setting that makes things weird.
All you can do is testing different drivers, like for example the XG tweaked ones from tweaksrus, or Omega drivers.
Usually those tweaked drivers are way better than the default drivers, offering better stability, and better quality with higher fps.

It's not a overheating thing, because it works well with nvidia driver 61.93. Even when i play till all night long

I'm going to try those XG drivers. Hope they make a miracle to my system and then I'll let you know...

Well, downloaded latest graphic and chipset drivers from tweakrus site and both LFS and GTR 2 are running very fast. No freezes and i've noticed some increase in performance.

Now I just need to push my pc a bit more and spend some time driving those great race simulators.
