AI Variables
I was thinking that with AI's the "learning" system could be scrapped and a custom difficulty/personality thing would be an idea I.E.

Tactics (0- dumbass, 100- Knows exactly what to do).
Line (0- won't know what the line is if it kicked them in the crotch, 100- smooth as a baby's butt)
Aggression (0- timid, 100- wrecker. basically)

Good idea? It wouldn't be too much work as AFAIK the whole AI system will be given a near total/total rewrite.

No, not good idea.
Every AI should always know when to take what tactical decision, every AI should always drive a good line and every AI should always race cleanly yet decisively.
It isn't desirable to have an AI not drive well, at no time and never, ever. It might be desirable to include a "reduce speed"-feature for lower difficulty settings once the AI has gained up speed. But we aleady have that feature.

good idea but why would you want a timid dumbass who wouldn't know what the line is if it kicked them in the crotch driving round the track?
