I have noticed a lot of people say when someone suggests there is more for drifting in the game that it is a race sim and not a drift sim. Maybe the developers should change it into a drift sim. Have only cars like nissan 180sx's, Skyline's andtracks designed specifically for drifting.

Would be fairly popular as there is no actual drift game on the pc that i can find. Could call it live for lack of grip

there are too drift games for PC, i can't remember the name of it this second but there is one called drift something i cant remember at all

yea not really being serious, more just sick of reading posts about drifting and everytime people go on and on about it being a race sim. Im suprised there was not already a post with someone going mental like i just raped there family.

I did buy the game for drifting, having fun racing in it though. I have not seen any pc game called drift something, a few on the ps2 though. I want to get a track car in the hopefully near future and start racing it, i think this game is definatly a good thing for improving race and possibly even drift skills.

Well, live for speed IS a drifting sim. Drifting uses THE SAME physics as racing! illepall

isn't LFS supposed to offer ANY kind of racing

and it does..

all it still needs is a nice mountain pass. that would be great for drifting and racing.

true drifting isn't technically considered "racing" by definition

but.. racing is 99% of the time associated with cars in some sort of competition

drifting isn't racing, but imo much more fun than racing.. they do however use all the same parts, equipment and adjustments as in racing, since it's all about grip, throttleresponse, turningradius etc..

(sorry if some of the "terms" i used has been poorly translated.. :tilt

edit: as CXNuse said, drifting is also a competition, and i guess may be called a form of racing anyways..

Drifting and normal racing are both doable IRL with cars like the XR GTT anyway, the only differences being suspension/steering setups and of course, the DRIVER.

As some here have already said, both obey the same physical laws since we're all living in the same universe anyway (or at least I hope so ).

+1 billion for imposing some kind of painful (and possibly embarrassing) penalty for anyone who posts anything without checking for duplicate threads! At last count there nine billion threads about the above three topics.

Excuse my short temper, I'm moving house this weekend and I'm going to miss the footy final :go sydney:

1) This is already a drift sim. Aswell as "drive-around-in-imaginary-city-built-from-advert-banners-on-a-parking-lot-pretending-you-are-a-police-sim"

2) Drifting is controlled 'sliding' of the car, with rear or all wheels breaking traction. Is it, or is it not "racing", "motorsports", or "sensible way to compete each other with a car" is everyone's personal opinion, and already discussed more than needed in these forums.

3) This whole thread (troll attempt) is pointless, you can drift with many cars already in LFS, and I'm sure that even if you shut'd up and practised drifting more, there will be more cars you'll able to drift in the future. If you want "NISSAN" text in the back of your car, go making a cool nissan skin. If you want same specs than your big brother's Nissan has, use the tweak apps.

I like to drift, but to change game comletely to drift sim? this should be some kind of nightmare :doh:
