Sweet, another V-Twin, love those SP1's, though they are supposed to be one of the worst bikes for both comfort and fuel

Dan,
Took my Falco out for it's first long run today, 300 miles, WOW, what a bike it is, awesome bike with awesome comfort, loved every minute of the day.

Dan,
my dad took me up to oak ridge tennessee on friday and we picked up (er.. ya i didn't have school on friday for those curious) and he bought an old honda CBX; its pretty much in great shape for its age, hes cleaning up some of the chrome on it now, but it sounds fantastic

.. unfortunately that makes bike #6 for him
ya its a beast.. i love it though, i'd drive it to school over the mike hailwood replica .. okay.. maybe thats a harder choice lol.. but i'd deffinetly take it over the triumph, the harley, the bmw, and the others

the only thing is how dangerous the ducati is.. look how skinny the rear wheel is lol, and how much you have to lean over and all that great stuff
Lovely old bike, if I had the money, I would buy stacks of old classic motorbikes and start a working museaum, could you imagine bikes like RG500, RD500, RC30, NC30 all in one place? and being able to ride them all?, awesome.

Dan,
i know a bloke with 3 of the above bikes in one place, aswell as a 05 blade.

got an rg500, half an rs250(project) 2 nc30's, an rc30(his pride and joy) the blade and an old beamer with a mega wide tank, dunno what its called tho. got a load of other old bikes, the odd bsa, norton, triumph, and a load of jap motors.

i think hes my uncle, or at least my aunts b/f or fiance. he works part time buying up projects, half bikes etc, restoring them and selling them.

Now with pics on page 1

Dan,
Sweet Dan. Looks way slicker in the new photos than in the first one you posted. I've got my DAS test tomorrow (eek!), and I'm optimistically hoping to be riding one of those new Suzuki SV650 sports within a few weeks (if I pass). I love V-twins and a 600 will be enough for me, the Kawasaki ER-500 I've been learning on seems bloody quick.
Good luck for tomorrow Sinbad, you should have no trouble, let us know how you get on.

The SV650? great bike, really good first bike, v-twins are much better than IL4's now IMO LOL, although I would say you would get "bored" pretty quickly of the 650 and be after something a bit quicker.

I will, I'm trying to be confident that I'll pass but I've heard such stories about shocking reasons for failing people, particularly when it's their first attempt.
Still, I'll give it my best, my instructor says I'm about as good as anybody he's seen after the relatively short time I've had on the bike, but it's not really in my hands is it? If the examiner wants to fail me, I will fail for something trivial. Just got to make it difficult for him to think of something

That's what my instructor has been saying, but I don't think that will happen too soon. I won't be doing millions of miles on it and as long as I don't try out any "big" bikes in the mean time I won't really know what I'm missing Besides which, I'm not trying to set any landspeed records
Thats what I thought with the 600, but I quickly reached its limit and wanted something bigger, more interesting/exciting, and the Falco is that and then some, I actually thought I would struggle to keep up with my mates on their 900 blades and ZX6R's on the twisty stuff, but no, the Falco is more than a match for them.

Hope today goes well, the most fails I have heard about are foot down on the U-turn, I nearly did it, and hesitation.

Let us know

Dan,
Good luck sinbad. Couple of hours now and you'll probarbly be doing it.
B.I.N.G.O!
Couldn't believe it when he told me I'd passed, I had made a couple of what I thought were perhaps borderline majors, but just the 5 minor faults

Gonna take my time and find the right gear for me (used the training centre's stuff), then get myself a bike........ just in time for the snowfall probably
Congrats Mate!!!!! :laola:

Get the best gear you can afford, it can save your life, I would suggest 2 lots, a pair of 2 piece leathers, and a decent Cordura (gore-tex) jacket and trousers, plus a decent helmet, 2 pairs of gloves, winter and summer, a waterproof suit and a pair of boots.

In all honesty, you are probably looking at around £1000-£1500 to get fully kitted out decently.

Dan,
And when you buy a helmet make sure it's ba***rd tight fitting because if not, in 6 months it'll be way too loose.
