easy way to tell if bottoming the chassis?
i'm looking for a way to tell if my chassis is bottoming on high speed corners with a low suspension setting.

i noticed i can hear a type of grinding sound and that if set to low (in the pits) the force meter of the suspension turns red,

however, i'd like to be able to measure the travel/height ratio of the chassis on a hard braking highspeed entry.

thanks for any help and sorry for any ignorance, i'm still digging in on these settings.
I was just thinking about this actually....

But there is only one way and that is if the suspension bars in F10 hud display are blinking (vertical ones).... which shows that the suspension is bottoming out and generating damage.

But the actual body... there really isn't anything that tells you other than sound if you can hear it. But sometimes it is pretty hard to hear if it is just barely scraping. Usually you should feel it through the car though, since the bottoming out will cause the car to lose a lot of speed through a corner.

You can also use the Shift+L view to watch the suspension, but I don't know if it would help
i'll check that out, see if it tells me anything.

edit:

still hard to tell...
Yeah, suspension bottoming is really easy to notice. Scraping the chassis is not, you just have to listen very carefully.

When I make a setup I usually drive a lap, watch the replay and switch on forces view (press "F"). When one of the load-arrows turns red that means the suspension has bottomed out.

Yeah, but that doesn't mean the chassis has touched the ground.
There might be something in the F1PerfView Replay Analyser using your exported RAF replay files.

If you are unable to find a way to measure it, perhaps consider whether it's actually affecting things at the time you hear the sound. If you are still making your corner entry without problem and you have no troubles with handling that could be caused by bottoming out, perhaps everything is okay. However, of course it would be best to know as much info as possible....

That's what I was going to suggest. There is definately a data item for this in F1PerfView
If there is I've never noticed it. It only tells you if the suspension bottomed, not the chassis.
Repalce the scrape sound with a loud tone then!
