Speed of cars does not appear right
The speed of the cars is not right at all. Was just watching on a server some dudes racing (AS Nat FZR) and was thinking that this bridge is damn slow approaching at a speed with 260 km/h. After I was looking more at the objects at the side and when you pass a tree at 260 km/h, you can almost count the leaf's. I have the feeling that with a BF1 the feeling is much more realistic by almost the same speed. Have to check this again.
What's your FOV set to? Wider FOV's tend to give a much greater sense of speed. Also, do you have any idea just how long the front straight is on Aston?

In real life it's quite easy to follow an object, even at high speed, and be able to see it very clearly. It's only when you're not following the object that it appears blured. At the moment, without fancy shaders, this effect is not possible. As a result, in every frame, everything is completely clear. It's just the way computer graphics work. Quite frankly I prefer it this way. I hate cheesy motion blur effects. That said, even in LFS, when you are looking straight ahead, your own eyes blur the parts of the image you're not looking at directly. Because you were specifically looking at the leaves, you were able to see them clearly, just as in real life.
I really didnt get your point when you said

Drive the XRR and BF1 side by side and let speedometer of both to indicate 250 km/h. Do you think that BF1 will be moving faster than XRR?

Better feeling of speed in BF1 may be caused by lower driver position and different cockpit design. I bet you have never been moving at really high speeds IRL(over 220 km/h). My "personal top" is about 180 km/h and I must say that when you are sitting on a passenger seat and not checking the speed, you almost cant realize how fast you are going.

Also the "blurred" image is a little myth. I dont know how the highways are in your country, but in mine there is a usually a small tree fence in the middle of two ways. This tree fence looks blurred only when I am looking on it direcly with 90 deg difference between my head and the car heading. In LFS you have no such thing, all trees are far enough to give you eyes enough time to focus on them. Drive right along the Blackwood barrier and look left - I will bet my tomorrow lunch that you wouldnt be able to read text on the banners.
(I hope you understood this, it is quite hard to describe and explain)

Finally, talking about "Feeling of speed" is complete nonsence. Human senses cooperates and when moving, you are getting much more information about the motion of your body than when you are sitting on a chair and looking at SMALL screen. Get some big free wall and wide-image projector, put your seat on some hydraulic-motioned deck and then we can talk about feeling of speed.

(This is not meant to be offensive in any way, this is just my personal opinion about this)
In a real car you have periphrial vision, so you have to increase the FOV in game, but that makes the FOV unrealistic. Its a trade off between fake periphrial vision, and more realistic FOV.
Thread title edited for clarity.

My C220 went 240 km/h and its not that great of a sensation.
Just like 180 plus a third more. Its ok.

I just feel a little like on ice in LFS.
Its hard to get a feeling for speed if there is no force acting on you.
Especially in turns. A FFB wheel helps.

Did you check from which country I coming? I'm almost every day going up to that speed

Anyway. I just figured that it has a lot to do with the zoom in the game. When u zoom in at max, the car seem to go 30 and when you zoom out the max it seems to go pretty fast. The problem of this (and anyway of the zoom which I never understood) is that everything around gets changed and at max zoom out, everting looks anyway so weird. But maybe you need this for other systems.
The thing is that there is missing simply the option to change your "viewpoint" or sitting position. Just the zoom is no good and does change everything. Even the track appears totaly different by changing the zoom.

First, it's called "field of view", not "zoom"... A low FOV is "Tunnelblick", to name it in german, whereas with a high FOV, you'll have objects alongside the track in your view, which lets you notice the speed, but, as you pointed out, you get a fish lense effect from fitting your peripheral view (which has way more degrees) onto a small monitor...

Try a field of view of between 60-65 deg, this is a good balance between view and speed.

50 deg is meant to be a natural FOV (Near to your eye fov if you had blinkers on) but you do not see enough around you.

The feeling of speed is not that bad BUT you lack the peripheral view that you get IRL. To highlight this try the following while driving IRL at speed.

1) Make sure it is SAFE and you are on a straight.
2) Close one eye to remove depth queues you get with both eyes open as you don't get this in LFS.
3) Try to ignore your peripheral view or block it out as you don't get this in LFS either.
4) Try to ignore ALL physical queues you get through your body.

You will notice doing the above that you are no longer able to determine sense of speed as well. You have to remember that any simulation environment is very limited compared to what information you get through your senses IRL.

Some other tips are...

1) Turn wind noise up to max.
2) Turn tire noise up to max.
3) Drop other sounds back from 1 to .9

The wind noise and tire sounds will then give you some more of the queues you are missing but you still need time to learn to read sense of speed in the simulated environment.
