Couldn't see any tire deformation there at all. A bit of suspension movement, and some smoke whilst you try and ruin your car.

And I agree with the handbrake - that and the wheelspin proves a lack of mechanical sympathy...

The BF1 vid is quite good, really shows how the LFS tires respond to lateral loading.

I agree. The FO8 one has a bit poorly chosen viewing angle, though. During cornering (where most flex happens) you can rarely see anything.

The vids nicely point out how LFS's deformation model seems to lack radial compression of the tyre sidewalls. Just compare it to the V8 vid. There it might be extreme, but in LFS it is non-existant.

Agreed, Vain. We know for sure that LFS is capable doing that, it just isn't tweaked yet. It seems to take far to much weight on the tires to have them affected that way right now. Although, if it was enhanced, what would "dropping" the car in the garage screen look like? If they deformed more when doing that it might look odd, and yet clearly while driving there should be more.

edit: I would really like to see a vid like that but with a XRR with way more mass, just to compare it to that V8 vid. I suppose LFSTweak & Patch U might be a plan.

Maybe LFS tyres have tougher tyre walls ? The V8 tyres shown in that clip have very soft walls, it is supposed to give better brake feel.

That's the reason why the run so much camber on the fronts, becuase the tyre 'pulls under' so much on cornering.

hey robster, it was a shame about that nasty incident, yes, that was in the V8 development support race, although the guy that died, Mark Porter, was supposed to be a co driver during the main race aswell. Very sad and very unexpected. Those cars are full of bars everywhere and they are very tough cars.
