Is it ok to kill a living legend?
I knew at some point they'd destroy a caravan too...lol.
It's a tribute, doh!
Quote from Crazy Harry :I was shocked as I saw that. I hate him now. illepall

Yeah, that poor piano didn't deserve it
most childish clip of Top Gear I've ever seen.
IMHO you can crash as many cars as you want. If they are still gettin build.
But crashing an oldtimer (specially a ducktailed 911) is a sin.
Dude, that clip is older than some of our forum members.
I guess, its from 1998.

Because they say something about Germany cant win against Croatia. And in that year, Germany lost against Croatia in the football world cup.
@Bob: Dude that Porsche is from the late 60/early 70z. Im not sure if they had colour TV in england at this time.

Even if its a 912 with 87 HP, its NOT ok to crash a vintage car (IMHO)
Quote from LFSn00b :It cant be so fun to kill a Porsche.

Don't diss it 'til you've tried it.

It can't have been 60s or 70s.. it was an X reg. That puts it firmly in the 80s.

I'm not a fan of doing stuff like that on Top Gear at all. It's cheap TV, to me. I can't help thinking that the fact that the show has a big budget because it has a big revenue is sometimes resulting in ever more cheapening of the format itself. The BBC has a responsibility to the licence payer, first and foremost, and crap like that isn't meeting that responsibility. And I don't even like Porsches.
This is a perfect example of the wasteful British. Older men in England, especially television hosts, have far too much spare time. They have no concept of the true value of something. To their generation, everything is just disposable. It truely is sad what British society is coming to.

Hmmm, don't you think this is a bit of an overstatement? It's the other way around, especially for our society acting so blind of our own faults *cough*

I don't see why people just look at the whole picture here and realize the meaning to why they did this to the Porsche. They are well built cars, until you blow them up . And it being a TV show has nothing to do with them having "free time" or older British men... hell, it is their job to entertain. Bleh..... nevermind me
This clip isn't from Top Gear, it's from one of Clarkson's own videos (this one, to be precise). Yes, it's senseless distruction, but this time it isn't being done at the taxpayer's expense.

You're clearly talking balls. Not every Briton is wasteful, don't you know generlisations are always wrong? Clarkson makes money by annoying some people, if he's got a reaction by destroying a 911 or by driving a Rolls Royce into a pool then he's won.

I was being sarcastic, sorry. Seeing this reminded me of the video a while back of the kids over revving an RX7 and blowing the engine. I was thinking of all the comments about how that video represented American society and everything that was wrong with it. I was simply turning it around.

I meant it as a joke, I thought it was so over the top that everyone would get the sarcasm, and I wouldn't need to use emoticons, clearly that was not the case

I'm not a regular visitor to these forums so it's difficult for me to differentiate between people being serious and having a laugh, not knowing most of the members. Sadly, because of the number of people on the Internet who have opinions as crazy as yours (and a lot worse in some cases) it was all too believable.
Well, even if it's a legend, this was a "mass-produced" car, and I guess, this one was defective already, I can't imagine they'd crash a expensive car in mint condition
And it's not like they crashed an Enzo or a McLaren F1
btw: really old clip...
