I hope that I can load pitcher to be a destop in track editor, because it is easy to build a track who have the map of the track it want, like this:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f= ... 0.010729&t=k&om=1

now, if I want to move it into track editor, I should write the track on my screen by writ board pan,and follow it to build the track in track editor.
It's not possible to make a new track and import it into LFS for general use at the moment.

If you're talking about AutoX (which I think you are), then there are other utilities out there, which won't do exactly what you want, but will create much smoother courses...
I'm talking about carpark, and there is a sofeware can make lyt in car park

So you are talking about AutoX.... Lets try to remember that a lyt isn't a track editor in the traditional sense.

Aside from that, I'm obviously not following the point of this thread seeing as you are aware of the other solutions which exist? I'm also not convinced that the AutoX arenas are big enough for what I think you want.
I think (i did say think) he means importing the image then he can draw around it with autox parts to re-create it.

If I am on the right lines, when your in the carpark, press Shift + U and you go into the layout making mode. Then you can select what you want and you can try and draw it out with items LFS alows you to place.

Also, in the Unofficial Addons section on this forum there is an autox creator (external program) where you draw the layout you want, select what itens you want to use and it will create the layout file for you.

Both methods you can't import the image and trace unfortunatly, so you are going to have to freehand it.

I hope im right, otherwise its a waste of a post

I am in the process of making a layout editor that can do what you want. Next version of my little Layout Thingy. It will be able to open up all AU# and BL3 for editing. Below is what I have so far. Haven't made all the backgrounds yet, haven't made the object pics yet, but would say that the core part is done and most of the UI. If all goes well, should be finished in a month or so.

Can you make it import the image what I want? like this:

so we can follow it to draw the layout
I'll told you how I make layout now later

Yeah, the background image is easily modifiable. Its simply a .jpg that anyone can edit. After that you would just draw lines and arcs onto the layout. So far I have the backgrounds for AU1 and BL3 but not AU2-AU4. If anyone would like to help with the backgrounds or object images, let me know and I will tell ya how
But You should keep the red line after you make it can input jpg file~~~
iF you don't keep it, we will not know where is in the carpark, where is out
For mine you won't need a red line because you can see a top view of the layout. For example, here is the beta background I will use for the carpark

Yeah sorry for now. My site is waaay out dated and needs to be updated. That version of it won't do you much good anyway as its only for S1 layouts, at AU1, and only for viewing on a background.
But... how to be your beta tester?
You said no need to have red line because there is a background, but,if I changh the pitcher........

Just so the not so clever of us undetstand: pitcher is spelled "picture". I am sure that he will put in a boundary where it does not allow you to draw in.
No, what it would do though is cause absolute chaos online and destroy the biggest selling point LFS has, online pick up races. I don't want to get in after work at 10pm and find I've got to download Silverstone V1.04 as I've only got V0.65 and then I need to find this RenaultF1 2006 V0.67.... before I know it it's time to go to bed without a single race.

There are a very small proportion of people who want these `tools` and a lot of them seem to have this idea that they'll just whack down the track as if it was scaletrix and not need 3D modeling knowledge.

Quote from Jimmy c :this is my first post here & i thought i'd add to this topic.......first off i started playing lfs a few months back....it's a good looking sim & plays nicely online too....i'm a demo user atm & would consider buying if there were plans set to release support tools in the guise of a track editor +
methods to import/export cars etc...i like to update /improve /build new stuff for my sims etc....i contacted lfs developers & they informed me they have no plans to release anything not at least until the next version s3 is released....lfs tracks seem pretty much developed atm..
i doubt very much more would change to the physical structure etc...
i'd suggest that since i've seen a lot of similar posts asking for tools...
the community could put forward such requests to lfs devs.....
a similar online racing sim netkar pro is released & still in development..
they are planning the release of a track editor in the next few weeks.....
so as it goes i can't see why there can't be an offical editor released for lfs......this can be release only with no support if they wish.......
surely releasing tools for s2 will further sales & grow an early interest in same when s3 is released........so.....as i said earlier....maybe the lfs community can put forward requests for a track editor & car tool etc.....

No illepall
Quote from Jimmy c :well.....the idea was to make the tools available to modify /create cars + tracks etc....you certainly would'nt have a gun put to your head to download or use any of these works.....there are many people who would like to add their works if possible.....if your happy racing online with the standard tracks & cars then thats you personal choice......
i'm just saying that this could further improve a great racing sim...
i agree with you about the tracks though.....
if you were t make a car / track etc...i'd like it to be to a pretty high standard myself.....i'd imagine if an offical set of editors were released they would probadly be complex to use & take some amount of time and effort to produce anything half decent........
as good as any game is at some stage something new is always welcome...

It would be good an all if you could model new cars and import them, but wouldn't you have to gain licenses and permission from the car manufacturers first?
Quote from Jimmy c :if your happy racing online with the standard tracks & cars then thats you personal choice......

Here is where you are wrong...

It would fragment the community totally and kill pick up races. Look at rFactor and compare the online activity to LFS. Track and car mods will never work in an online game unless there is a system in place to automate the process. As I said I don't want to get home after college or work to have some fun on LFS and spend 30/45mins finding + downloading + instaling mods just so I can play other people online.

Everytime a new car and track is released the majority of people will jump ships to use that and force others to get it so they can actually race with everyone else. Then theres the huge amount of people who own LFS that don't look up the forum who will not have a clue whats `wrong` when they can't join hosts anymore without missmatches.
