Need for Speed Carbon
well.. just figured i'd atleast make a thread lol, no trashing.. seriously, if you dont like NFS then you dont have to say it aloud in this thread; but for all of those interested im making this thread

and.. actually i prebought my game last week (the collectors edition) meaning.. i ALSO get the 1971 Challenger and the Pagani Zonda [edit- well.. apparently EA doesn't want to say what the last car given in the collectors edition game] ontop of the car list here:
[edit - okay.. im lost, i guess if you pre-order online right now you get the '71 challenger and the zonda, but the 3 other cars haven't been named yet then]
  • 1967 Shelby GT500
  • 1969 Dodge Charger R/T
  • 1970 Plymouth® Hemi® Cuda
  • 2005 Ford GT
  • 2006 Corvette Z06
  • 2006 Ford Mustang GT
  • 2005 Vauxhall Monaro VXR
  • 1970 Chevelle SS
  • 2005 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG
  • 2004 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren
  • 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT
  • 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse
  • 1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34
  • 2005 Renault Clio V6
  • 2003 BMW M3 GTR
  • 2006 Porsche Cayman S
  • 2005 Nissan 350Z
  • 2004 Lamborghini Murcielago
  • Audi Le Mans quattro
  • 2004 Lotus Elise
  • 1998 Toyota Supra
  • 2006 Alfa Romeo Brera
  • 2006 VW Golf R32
  • 2005 Mercedes-Benz CLK500
  • 2006 Chrysler® Hemi® 300C® SRT8
quite a long list for need for speed.. owell i can't wait, curious if anyone has tried the demo yet? because i've heard that the drifting is reeeeally weird and you have to be going like 80+ mph to drift? weird.. that, and the setup BETTER be like NFSU2, else im gonna be kinda upset because we could do so much stuff in NFSU2 compared to Most Wanted

im kinda glad that they seperated it all now, so you have your tuners, your muscle cars, and then your exotics.. that way it wont look weird with little Evos racing against.. some mercedes lol

and i seriously can't wait for the autosculpt! and the way you paint the cars, thats going to be a first in the gaming world (autosculpt, the painting has been done before on multiple games)

but ya, made this thread if anyone wants to talk about it (surely 1 other person will atleast..)

[edit - for all of those curious, heres what collectors edition gives ontop of the normal game: 3 more cars, 10 specifically tuned cars (im guessing thats like how MW had the C6R etc. and how NFSU had those pre-tuned cars), 6 new races, and behind the scenes footage]
the drifting is worse than in NFSU 1/2?
sry for whats basically spam but i just had to point out who replied first to this topic
..? i dont get it.. oh wait.. your probably one of those people that yells out RICER! when he sees someone with a spoiler on a car..

anyways, @ricerguy, thats what i've heard, some of the people that have tried the demo that just came out, they said the drifting is weird, and i saw a video if it earlier today and it looked extremely unnatural, the person that i was talking to said you really had to be going 80+ mph to really get it to drift..
lets see if i can find that video, i believe it was an IGN one
http://media.xbox360.ign.com/media/826/826964/vids_3.html
if you watch canyon drifting and the track drifting (thats the one im referring to), the track one looks weird because the car is going so fast and its.. weird i dont know

the storyline should be really interesting though, seeing that the cop that was after you in Most Wanted apparently got fired and is now a "bounty hunter" (on the streets obviously)

Quote from XCNuse :..? i dont get it.. oh wait.. your probably one of those people that yells out RICER! when he sees someone with a spoiler on a car..

me, i do that

why didn't it get better?... it all just took an unexpected downhill (pun or.."expected"
?)
wow, that autosculpt looks great. Though i bet it won't help with the online play.
wouldn't know; i wish i had online but apparently NFSC is going to be way more online based than singleplayer; apparently there'll be some game you can play like cops and robbers basically, where your a normal car and someone else is a cop and the cop person has to chase you down and stop you, and then if they do so, then they get your car and you become the cop and it goes on.. that sounds like fun, with the afaik with Xbox 360 you can get a few more cars i think if you have the normal game.. and all sorts of great stuff
the cool thing i've seen about the cops and robbers type game, is that while the "robbers" are in a closed course, the cops can go anywhere on the map which is pretty awesome, that way you can cut through a city and form a roadblock with all the other cops together

i'd figure online autosculpt wouldn't really be a problem since its really only %'s and body kits so its just a few more values ontop of whatever value a certain bodykit and wheels etc. are so..
there must be more cars in the regular game, i saw a RX8, DB9, EVO, RX7, and the Impreza in the autosclupt video. Unless the untuned cars are somehow extremely special there must be more to the list
aha.. i guess there must be an older list somewhere on EA's Carbon website; heres the confirmed carlist:

@ XCNuse,
Sorry a bit OT I really want to know how to load 3D models into photoshop, I have the nvidia dds plug-in but im a bit lost as how/what to do next to work with models.
I would be very greatfull if you could direct me to a tutorial in 3D modeling if possible.
Photoshop doesen't do 3d.
Quote from thisnameistaken :When I played a NFS game I'm pretty sure I got 200mph+ out of a Fiat Punto. I can't imagine how fast an actual sports car goes in that game. 300mph? 400?

i bet ya a s3 license that a Crysler 300 can go 200 in the game, even though it has shitty aero.
Well, What did you expect? It's an arcade-game, not LFS.
Nice car list, too bad that they all handle like a 20 000 kg titan tank.
NFS is always a fun. I enjoyed every NFS game I've played, especally the Underground serie. I don't care about the realism on NFS. It's not the game of realism. It's the game of fantasy.
It looks too arcade for me to try it...
NFS: Porsche was the best, then it was simulation-ish
now it's fully arcade...
RIP NFS

Provided that this doesn't have the magic "teleport a cop right in front of me" A.I that made me bin Most Wanted and go back to Underground 2 which I really enjoyed I might give this a whirl.

I need to read up on the thing to decide if it's really all that different or just another "buy go faster bits and tear arse around in free roam game." If it is I can see me digging out the old Underground 2 disc yet again.
ya.. i think out of all the NFS's that i've ever played (only been underground till now) has deffinetly been underground 2, specifically the amount of mods you can do, and i LOVE the car setup, i loved messing with the ECU and turbo and all that stuff; it may not be real, but it deffinetly gives you some insight as to what tuning is all about

as for getting cars over 200+ mph, i can't say i've ever gotten anything slower than an elise over that speed .. i think
that was fully tuned too, i dont think i've ever tried the low end cars though.. given enough space it may be possible to get it near, but its deffinetly not that easy

thats kinda like back in freshman year when everyone was making fun of NFSU saying how fast they can go and stuff.. it really isn't all that fast; people were talking about easily going over 200 and taking 200+ mph turns.. ya thats not really possible for me lol, i dont think i can ever recall going over 200 mph in NFSU

owell, but ya .. Carbon has a HUUUGE carlist i can't wait
yea, i always found one problem with NFS, the car setup tells you a speed that you can exceed and there is no straight, empty area bigger than a parking lot that is needed for top speed runs.

I have to say though, my all special and max upgrade Miata went 230 MPH in NFS underground 2.
LFS = Sim
NFS = Arcade fun.

Though i do think NFS (especially underground, MW) is ricer i like it. When i dont want serious racing i like it. Will have to have a look at NFS carbon. Car list looks good

Ive not looked but what formats it NFSC being released on. Will it be on PS2? If not i guess ill wait and see if they release if for PC.

Edit - Yes for PS2 - Might get in on PC anyway.
lol NFS Carbon is going to be on everything pretty much

mobile, PSP, gamecube, ps2, ps3, xbox, xbox 360, wii, nentindo DS, gameboy, and PC

i have to say that it is the widest formatted game i've ever come across.. ever
AE86 and mountainroads. The Initial D fans'll be haaappy.
No PC demo though right?

Only available on the Live Marketplace for Xbox?

That is crap, i was looking for one last night.

Also watching videos on the autosculpt looks like it good be good. Also the body kits seem to be more NFS U2 style which i liked Definatly going to be interesting to see all the designs that can be made up
