I'll upload the files later today. I just wanted to quickly see what people thought and I'll do some changes before I upload to help stop it sounding like a:
Ok i've changed a couple of things: it now sounds a little smoother still a little rough but I think that makes it sound a bit beefy kind of showing you the power it has! Also you can now hear the shift point and redline much better than before. Hope you like!
The samples are good, but there is a sudden jump in pitch as you get near the redline. Good attempt though, the result is better than I have so far managed with this car.

Try using this .exe that Yamakawa sent me because mine used to do that before Yamakawa sorted it! It doesnt jump suddenly on mine anymore but if that doesnt work then I dont know why sorry!
um...this really doesn't sound like a boxer engine, not smooth enough and solid enough, more like some fire breathing race tuned engine then one in a up market sports car.
much better if you turn up the backfires, and then make each freq range progressively louder, (altho i bump the idle loudness cuz I like to hear it RUMBLE). Really good samples tho, hats off to ya
You mean it doesn't sound on your computer same as the preview clip, or that the preview clip doesn't sound like the real sample? If the latter one, difference is that real is always real, in a game you don't have a real engine producing the engine noise.
I used this recording to create new sounds for the XRR. Scares the sh*t out of me this does.
Install by:
Unzipping into your CSR folder, in User Files/
Running CSR and ticking the User checkbox
Then running LFS and selecting the XRR
Further info: I suggest turning the LFS volume off completely as I made these sounds for wow factor purposes not for for function, and they don't match the revs of the engine in LFS.
I had previously released the UF1 & UFR, but after using CSR a bit more I discovered I messed up the low range completely
I have now re-done them and added the LX4, could you please have a listen to the previews and tell If they need more work or not? Before I upload them.
hmm, i like the UFR sound but when it revs down its a bit ...low?
UF1 sounds interesting too but im not sure what to say lol.
for the LX4 its not really my thing.
I think LX4 is not good, somehow I just can't imagine Caterham with that kind of sound. Where you took those sample files?
Just some hours ago I played with UF1 with your previous sound for it and I think it was already good enough, this one is maybe a little bit too high pitched. Have you tried to match it with the LFS car sound? Sounds like throttle lift off completely 'kills' the noise, I'd work on that.
About UFR, I wouldn't use that same idle sound ("verylow" sample file) that UF1 has. UFR is a race tuned little monster so I think it doesn't fit (for UF1 it fits) and it should be noisier than that. Take some advice from james' UFR sounds: http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=13776
I'm not bashing these, I just would work on these things.
