how could i forget the GPEGA.EXE? such a nice melody
this was the first pc game i played i think, thanks for this
Awesome stuff. 1m10.5 on my first qually lap at Monaco, put me about 7th on the grid. On medium difficulty. Bah, I suck. Even Kev would beat me
Should there be any sounds? Missing the gear changes :P
Far too many laps done in that game. The classic canned carspin animation was the best.
Towed to pit.

(I remember that this was my first racing game. Played with one of my mates. 286 power! If I remember it right, there is that tunnel on one track, whre you can drive the car into the wall...)
I never played a PC version of this before, might have played it on another platform though. It took me a while to write this reply because I just fell asleep whilst driving an old Silverstone layout...

Interestingly, I think the engine braking is more realistic than LFS..

Wohooo!! I used to play this game a lot! Taht Accolade logo... ahh, those were great times...
GP Circuit was the bomb! Killed many hours on the C64 playing that, as well that other Accolade classic, the original "Test Drive"
My first ever PC Game. :lovies3d:
Nice find.
I used to LOVE that game.

It won't run for me, I get a message saying ¨NTVDM encountered a hard error¨

test drive was from distinct not accolade
the guys who also made stunts and mario andrettis racing challenge

which imho were far better than anything accolade ever made including the awesome ski jumping in winter challenge which i still play every now and then

edit: forget what i said about test drive

still my point stands accolade isnt as good and neither is gp circuit ... btw a friend of mine can play the theme on the piano

so is the synthed engine sound

I think you mean Distinctive. Mario Andretti was fun, but that much "much later on" at the time. Must of been the second racer I played after Indy500 that was in actual 3D vector graphics - atleast it featured more tracks than Papyrus' first.

whoops youre right
in my defense its been a while since i last saw their company logo

there's a problem with win xp and the 16bit subsystem, google for the error, you might find a solution
I LOVE THAT GAME!

Played it non-stop when I was 2 or 3 years old,and still play it from time to time
I remember playing that game in the night with my neighbour, while waiting for midnight (New Year's Eve). We were both around 10-12 and we were arguing about negotiating corners. I said you should stick to the inside the whole time, cause then you travel the smallest distance, while he said that you should stick to the outside (the whole time ofcourse) so that you can go faster. Was my first serious driving game
what is this 'distinctive' that you are talking about? test drive had the accolade logo. with the funny music and the countach driving by.
He already corrected himself about that
Aye, classic game, used to play that along with Cycles (by Accolade aswell) on my father's computer back in the day.
I did 53.2 seconds on Monaco btw, but that was quite a few years ago.. Still have 'proof' of it, its in my versions highscores..
GP Accolade is a classic.. I first had it on Commodore 64 and then on computer.... Good classic that will never vanish

Man, a few years back you'd get lynched for a statement like that - kind sir, are you implying the C64 was not a computer?
