Monday my GeForce 4 gave up. Always had a lot of fun, and LFS worked fine (about 20 fps at the start, and when not more than 3 cars or so where in sight, I had about 55 frames, limited).

So, today I bought a GeForce 6600 GT (128 MB, AGP). But LFS doesn't seem to like it. At the start (10 ai cars) I had 8 sometimes 7 fps! And it didn't go above 20 fps even if it where just a few cars, with exactly the same settings I had with my GeForce 4.

I tried other games too, but they just worked fine, great speed, great graphics.

Anyone knows how to fix this? It's almost impossible to drive this way.

10 ai cars? AIs always make the game run slow depending on the speed of your processor. Did it used to run at 20fps with 10 AIs or with 10 people online?

Did you connect the GTs´ power connector to your power supply?

There's no difference. I got a P4 3ghz, so it should work fine..

@ OPK, yes I did.

I had a RIVA TNT2 32mb in my pc, replaced it with a Geforce 5200 128mb, i didn't get any difference in fps too. Maybe reinstall video drivers and lfs ?

I already reinstalled it, but no difference.

I also noticed I can't play a video. At least nog in Media Player, the whole system hangs when I try to play a video.

Hi! Sounds like a power issue. What's your PSU?

I have the same card and the same prob, even online i'm getting no more thjen 15fps....... help

make sure in LFS..
in options the video card is selected, i got my video card and was running maximum 10 fps, but i had it to tweak the settings in Option >> Graphics i think, and should be at the bottom, but thats just me..
i'd say play around with the graphics..
make sure u got DirectX the latest
and OpenGL.
other stuff.. i cant think of now..

Grml....hmmm....

Try to install a clean Windows on a different partition if possible.
Then the latest drivers and a NEW (!!) LFS without your old configs.

If this works as slow as your current sys you can be sure it´s a hardware problem.
But I´d say it´s driver or OS related, so try to install a test system if possible.

Just looked in LFS, under Options > Graphics. There it says "Hardware Vertex Shadows", that was OFF. But when I put in ON, and then restart LFS, it all just works fine!!

Did a race, with ALL the AI cars. And the FPS didn't came under 30 FPS.

So, SID135, try to set that on ON! Maybe that works.

Now I only need to solve the Media Player issue, but I think that's just has do with Media Player itself then.
