I remember this experiment, we got it live though, not just from some video

By the way, it's not an educational program, just a science-entertainment show on Sky One.

Back when I was in 6th form, a few of us volunteered to do a few practical demos for the parents and new intake, mine was the alkali metals + water.

The place was mayhem, kids running about while their parents talked to the teachers...soon got their attention by saying loudly 'Who wants to see an explosion?'
