Quote from ORION :The game is complete junk as usual, the stering is ultra delayed, it looks like crap, and the drift mode is a joke

So it is not only me that thought the steering was utterly delayed. I got fed up and deleted it. Most Wanted was a fair amount better than this.
I installed the game, played the demo(and finished it completely wtf), and uninstalled. Took all of like 25 minutes to do this. The demo was just boring and too quick to finish. The autosculpt is nice and the graphics look nice. Steering input was lagging. Plus forced to use keyboard??? Lame. I didn't have much fun with this demo, but I'll keep my eye on the full version still.
you dont have to use your keyboard? you can use your wheel, you just have to set it up after the race starts

yes the demo sucks, but keep in mind how old the demo truely is (a month or so old i believe)
and apparently the drifing is meant to be like that, they just wanted to make it "faster" so it is said; general consesus says it sucks but.. they got what they were going for, owell it should still be a good game once again
do u guys who say carbon has crappy graphics have crappy videocards?
lol i know orion doesn't thats why i commented.. but i agree, the demo doesn't look as good as the finished game (which comes out in 4 more days.. yesss) will look

and for everyone thats seen a comparison of the scores, and are wondering why the PS2 and Xbox scores are lower; its because they wont include online play (which.. no matter for me since i dont have online for my ps2 anyway)

..looks pretty good if you ask me

i just looked at the Wii pictures... wtf is nentindo doing?! the screenshots look horrible! from what i can tell is that all it is, is a gamecube with a different look to it... this looks like crap: http://wiimedia.ign.com/wii/im ... bon-20061027103732570.jpg
sad thing is, its not just that one shot.. its all of them: http://wiimedia.ign.com/wii/im ... bon-20061027103733476.jpg

well the first pic is a render, pretty sure.
about the wii...what did u expect? its an nintendo!
cheap - nintendo
expensive - xbox
good quality and price - ps 2 (3 hopefully not too long after the release)
@XCNuse: Real cars don't look anything like that. They might in a photo studio setting with a super high-gloss finish and lights set up in strategic places to reflect just right off the car, but in a natural setting, you're just not going to get that "light-beams-sticking-out-6-inches-from-my-tail-lights" or "my-car-is-a-mirror" effect.

And yes, I do have a pretty nice computer with all the detail settings maxed out (except that silly motion blur) at 1600x1200.

the first "screenshot" is a render.
It's EA's way of saying "buy this game, and the next one, and the next one, and maybe in 10 years live graphics will look like this"
its not a render, thats an X360 screenshot
Out of curiosity, how are the physics compared to LFS? I am not trying to bash NFS or anything, but I just want to know how bad the physics are. And, would it be possible to make a realism mod for NFS carbon? I don't think anyone has modded it yet though.
Huh, this game HAS physics?
IMO, not the best NFS ever but, because its the 'latest one' it will fly off shelfs and all the NFS junkies will love it.

Overall the graphics are not as good as they can / should be. Drifting, HA, you turn left, handbrake, counter steer, throttle, ta-da, NFS drifting...

Also, i don't know if this is just me or everyone playing the PC demo, the car always turned left... not full lock left, kinda slightly left, like an uncalabrated joypad, even though i had no pad / wheel or anything attached at the time, only the keyboard.

The sculpting this is alright i guess, good possibilities for variety BUT i can see it being dominated by people who max everything out and go "LOOK @ MI 1337 SHIT" Racing is the same as NFSU, NFSU2 and NFSMW... not much else to say about that.

Physics are the same as said games above...

Some screens i took for those who cant / dont wana play or believe glossy screens are renders. (all screens are 1280x1024, full & max graphics with 4x AA (which is the max))

And a drift vid to show how easy it is (was made to show me friend what the game looked like but it also shows how fecking easy difting is)

When I tried to d/l the demo, it stopped in the middle each time!

Mine actually was turning to the right. Quite annoying, but still surprisingly easy to beat the AI first time through.

you're funny
I just d/led the demo. Physics are terrible, just as I expected. I was hoping EA would decide to make the game more realistic this time around, but I guess not!
i couldn't find an option however.. for reflection updates; so my reflections get updated like every half second and looks bad.. i mean im getting good FPS, but .. owell

as for the drifting again; they got what they wanted, but everyone deffinetly hates it

if the drifting is like it is on circuit racing on the demo or on the touge.. it'd be WAY better

if you want to have some serious fun, take the camaro SS and take it down the hills its so much fun
Carbon
I know some are going to hate me for saying this but I got the demo few days ago and thinking of getting the actual game
P.s We need muscle cars in LFS coz I love them but if you go to a gasstation you feel sorry for yourself.I love the sound of V6 and V8.

I agree. V8 Muscle in LFS would be fun.
And I pre-ordered the collectors edition
in both NFSU and NFSU2 the physics used in the drifting events was different from the physics used in the rest of the game.

I might pick this game up in a few months when it hits the bargain bin and costs $20. I've played every NFS up to this point, so, might as as well keep on...i just won't be paying full price for it

I've played every NFS up to this point

I love drift and based on the carbon demo it ain't soo bad
I have played every part too including the SE editions
P.s UG2 Supra fully pimped stock tyres best drift
Quote from uss77 :P.s UG2 Supra fully pimped stock tyres best drift

i found my celica that i bought first thing in the game, that had all the upgrades and unique parts was the best drift car. was also faster and better handling than all the other cars in the game too, but i think was because of the unique parts.

all this talk of NFSU2 is making me want to play it again :eclipsee_

well try the Supra and ....
oh and stay stock wing plz coz the rear will fly coz less downforce
Edit: and it looks cool
the best in NFSU2 was my MX5, it had everything on it too. Whenever i went to my friends house and he went online with it, he would be kicked out of every game because the car was too good.
