the funniest bit seem to be that the thing simbin fans care about the most is whethter the wipers work in race or if they dont like in gtr2

The best quote was someone saying that he simply can't play GTR2 because the wipers aren't done properly. Ruined the whole game, he says
does anyone know some way to stop it from stuttering / lagging / having about 2 FPS ?

I am quite sure its not my computer becuase i never have any problems with any other games I have had running , rFactor demo , FS9 and of course LFS all run excellent FPS , never had an issue.

Anyway to solve this in RACE so I can at least find out how bad the game is for myself hehe

nope, doesn't seem to be if the graphics are already set to "crap"

Why cant they make the physics the same as in the full product AND the demo, the demo is to demonstrate the full game is it not?
good call ,

whats point in releasing a demo if its different to full game , it leaves us in the same position as before the demo ... wondering weather or not the game is good enough to buy.

EDIT : I mean obviously we get a look at the tracks and one or two of the cars in the game but I think / really hope even they will be getting changes before full release.

Click an icon called Uninstall Race, then wait a few minutes. Then click the Live For Speed S2 icon and wait. Click multiplayer, browse servers, choose one, join, race. No more worries at all.
dear god its working !!!

thank you Tristan !

Turn shadows down, fixed the stutters for made, even after that it was still a steaming pile of dog doo, and I generally like ISI titles (apart from rF)

Dan,

Maybe game publishers in general have learned that releasing intentionally a crappy demo is good trick after all just because then they can say "demo is crappy, full version will be better".

How was that 'real damage' they swore it to had? Driving 80kph to wall crushed front end so that wheel wells were non existing at front and naturally engine dies?

i know, not much of a demonstration. Oh well, geuss the money i COULD spend on Race...

will be going on new karting boots!
It's frozen my comp 3 times now, and that's just at the menus! Thought that was a bit weird, so I uninstalled/reinstalled and finally got the thing to run. But it feels hideous- physics wise it feels like it's been all shot up with horse tranquiliser. I've got bad framerates issues that need to be sorted out as well, but not now as the game froze again (this time in-game) and on principle and frustration I'm not gonna push that reset button again tonight.

Mercy!

i quite like this game. As i have no experience of ever driving a WTCC car round brands hatch, i dont particularly care if its uber realistic or not, if you ignore the realism aspect, its quite fun to put a lap in. its the first ISI sim ever where counter steering actually works

anyway, i made a quick video of a lap (got a new graphics card recently, im just going about recording random things), judge for yourself whether the track is uber accurate or not, its fine for me.

might not work for a wee while, just uploaded it.
nice lap- i am hovering around 1:41 sill inthe BMW
the Seat is so much fun to drive.
any way-
nice demo- if the release is much much better this will be crazy good.
i turned down graphocs options to medium and it run s better (3.2 P4, 9800 256k Radeon Ati 1 gig ram)
not perfect though- i hop e this is improved on release.
funny the cars seem uch more skittish than anything in LFS, the sounds are better
I didn't much like the demo - it ran pretty well on my PC with no lag or framerate issues, but TBH the cars felt crap. Not that they were slow, but you have no real sense of speed (apparently increasing the FOV to 70-80 fixes this), both cars sounded like someones tapping a can of beans under the bonnet half the time, and leaving out the A.I for the demo was a big mistake without giving it multiplayer. And the physics..meh close enough for fun, not in the same league as LFS but I don't think anyone expected it to be.

IMO every game aimed at online play these days should have a multiplayer demo available, perhaps not as generous as LFS's but I don't spend money on driving sims without trying them online first one way or another. If I want offline I'd rather play NFS than hotlap.

I really hope its not an accurate representative of the final game, it crashed when I went for 6th in the BMW (it only has a 5+1spd, but its a habbit to reach for 6th). The installer was bodged, and who decided its better to set the front/rear up on different pages?
Thank you. That is good by SIMBIN to let people try the full version. Maybe it is drastically better than the demo I last played.

...believe me, it's not. save your bandwidth!
Free trial... wooo....

*5 minutes later*

That wasn't worth the electrical energy required to light up the forcefeedback LED on my wheel.

Unfortunately that's true. Graphics aren't bad (cars are pretty good and Macau is nice), but physics and multiplayer just suck. I was expecting more from all that pomp. :irked:

I second that, its really poor, atleast GTR was fun and playable!
The fact it has forced, in-game advertising was more than enough for me to pass it up, which is a shame as I prefer touring car series over the likes of GTR cars, but the in-game advertising and the fact it runs through steam (like starfarce, will _never_ make it onto one of my boxes) were enough for me to stick with pro evo soccer

Ian
Crap. I d/l'ed it. I cannot chat, it doesnt let me type. The FFB is completely reversed. The physics suck. The sound is terrible. The rain effect is better off not in the game.
Having "found" the full game i can assure you its no better than the demo, terrible rehashed same ol same old shite stay well clear..

Save your megs and sanity, there must come a time when people stop accepting games like this playstation runaway and demand something better..

Scawen and Co if you made more products i would be the first to buy them..
