Same here. I actually HAVE read it several times, but always as a joke. The one, who said that, sent the set 10 seconds later. I cant recall anyone saying "team set" as a reason for not giving out his set.

I've seen it when it's been said AND meant, though I'm not naming. I figure they must be so insecure about their own driving that they don't want to share their set for fear that someone will beat them with it

Most of the WR holders are more than happy to share their sets, and that's actually one of the most strikingly appealing things about the LFS community for me.

I see a lot of people say that getting fast times is nothing to do with setups. Frankly I think that's tripe. While a good setup isn't the ONLY thing you need to achieve a good time, if you don't have a decent setup you'll never get the time.

Well, TBH, there are quite a few elitist teams but most people are quick but not WR stuff. Teams like Inferno and Ocrana are very good examples of elitist teams. Personally, all you have to be is quick, even if the person you're racing with is quicker than you, it doesn't mean you can't win, I've been in the situation many times where I won down to my racecraft even though the guy I was racing with was like 3-5 tenths faster than me. So, racecraft matters most.

I dont know, what you understand under "elitist", but for me, it is a team, that thinks, they are the best and they are above all other drivers. Going from this description, these 2 teams are probably the worst examples possible. IMO.

I know of 2 or 3 drivers in a certain team, that are like this, but no whole team.
