Looking for perfect sofa game for pc
Thing is I would like to play some simple game while sitting on sofa (tv out and gamepad) and it should be possible to play over internet also so I could play with my brother that lives far away.
Also buying few consoles is going to be too expensive so as we have pcs game should be for pc, makes more difficult to find suitable game, I know.

Insane and Tekken 2 are great, but bit old, I guess there is no better beat em up than Tekken 2 out there?
Virtua tennis is nice too, but starts to be boring eventually, also I have no idea if it is possible to play it over internet.

It won't harm if title is also cheap, even free.

So maybe we build big list about games here.

the sims! lol how bloody sh*t would that be ey?
omfg....remember Army Men ...the one with the mortars and the little green plastic men?is that on pc??????
NFS Underground 1 is good for that, it ends up in my PS2 a lot when mates are around. Does do online play although its a bit touch and go.

Another game I used to play on the gamepad was Tony Hawks (skateboarding game), at least one was released for pc, pretty fun. I think it does online play.

And the all time classic..Worms

No coincidence all 3 games I listed are both PC/console games, if it was released on a console it'll likely work good on a gamepad.

Or you could just spend the £40 or however much it is in Finland for a PS2, most games you can get under £5 off Ebay over here so prob pretty cheap over there too.

PS2 is 149€, too much

Well, my blood pressure is not too well when playing NFS, car acts too stupid, so that is out from list

I think driving games in general are not the thing, title should be more like sports and figthing I guess, there just seem to be big hole on market.
I'm not sure that PCs will have too much in the way of sofa games, unless you want to get in to emulation.

How much do N64s cost for you, perhaps on e-bay or something.
Two words - Mario Tennis.
Perhaps the best sofa game ever
And for network play of a driving game that's alot like Generally - check out Turbo Sliders, then you got classic arcade racers: Dethkars, this also has combat, and Motorhead - the latter I'm not so sure if you can get to work in network play, although it's a great game even in SP mode.
PES6

..deja vu..
2nd hand PS2? Like someone else said the N64 is good fun as well and dirt cheap, I used to love the Turok (FPS) games on it, great split screen as well.
Dreamcast (£15 with Ferrari F355 challenge - possibly the most realistic console driving game)
If you like footy then it's pro evo all the way, no better sofa game imho
Do think they should introduce a feature that I have only seen in FIFA World Cup 98 (Double tap the run button and you dive!)
Guys, JTbo already said that he wants PC games that also have multiplayer-over-internet capabilities.
PES6 is available on PC, that has network play!
Or if you want a awesome FPS (Not really a sofa type game) get FEAR Combat (FREE!!!!!!)
Quote from Thorvertonian :PES6 is available on PC, that has network play!

I wasn't referring to that, obviously - I was referring to the dreamcast, ns64, playstation, etc ideas.
I think sports games will be about the best. I hate playing FPS games with a gamepad (God I wish Killzone was released for PC ) so sports games are about the best fit imho.

EA's (GASP!) NHL series is about the best as far as Hockey games go, AFAIK. I know the '06 variant is a little (term used loosly) arcadeish, but it's still fun. Plus you can create a complete custom team (Several hours of work, however) right down to the players faces and arena graphics and such. Or you could go the easy route and make a team in 5 minutes using the in-game thinger...

Anyways, good fun. Nothing like Phaneuff delivering a bone-shattering check to Ovechkin. "He got Phaneuffed!"

Sofa game on PC... hmmm

I think Flatout 2. It's so much fun when you have mates around! I don't know what it's like online, because I hate Gamespy, but I know there's loads of great mini-games for use when you have mates in the house, which are all awesome fun!

I guess pes6 is one thing to try indeed, how I did forget that again

Last NHL series game that I did like was NHL94, then they started to go something I did not like at all, at some point they wen't to level where they caused only frustration so I have not touched for 2 or 3 latest version.

Flatout (1&2) causes my nerves to destroy themself, nooo car can't go that way, that is unnatural, aaargghhhh, sorry, got bit trauma from demo illepall

It really is hard to find things for pc and now you start to have these boxes that do vcr and gaming, surfing etc. so you really would like to have games that you can easily play on tv-screen, maybe some publisher will wake up for urgent demand of good beat em up like virtua fighter was.

I must look into wheel setup too, maybe I can make chair/cockpit thingy so that I can set my dfp wheel to front of tv, then could drive LFS from tv-screen too, it is quite different feeling from big screen that hides minor errors from pic, also colours do seem to be somehow better.
You've all forgotten about Worms, great fun for up to 4 players, alliances beeing made and broken...aaah the memories.

Along the same lines but with tanks, theres also Scorched 3d.

I know you can't play it over the net, and it is for PS2 but you have to try this:

MASHED

An insanely fun micromachines style game with some weapons to throw at your friends. Put this on a PS2 with four gamepads and if after 30 minutes you aren't laughing and throwing whatever you have at hand to someone I'll pay you a beer

And to help the topic, ZSNES is an SNES emulator that can be played over TCP/IP like there were two pads in one console, I know SNES games are a bit old, but there are some funny titles!!
Defcon - amazing game for LAN and internet (Demo only allows 2 player though)

Take control of the miltry, place your silo's, subs, airports etc... and nuke the hell out of your opponents!

I remember worms, also worms plus I think it was called, but after that it went bad, forced time limit for turn and over cute graphics, very bad changes, imo.

Hmm, now I remember, when I bought this gfx car it came with race driver 3, I have not tested it yet, I think it is quite crap, but maybe it is better than flatout or NFS, well I can always dream
