My internet works fine up until around 6pm and then it keeps disconnecting me every 10 or so minutes. When i try to reconnect it says that it can't find a dialtone so i have to wait about 5 minutes before i can reconnect only to be dissconnected again. I was in the middle of a good race when it started yesterday and it's getting very annoying. Do any of you have any possible solutions?

Get a new ISP? I'm serious! If you are with bulldog or Tiscali, you are paying for a terrible service.

Sounds like a fault. Does the line loose sync when it disconnects? If you have a router it normally has an icon that tells you on the front? Have you rung your ISP? If you tell them the symptoms and ask for a line check, it should show up any problems especially if they're BT related.

It could be that you're on an oversubscribed DSLAM, or theres further issues. Either way, talk to your ISP. Ask for a line test. If they ask if you've swapped out any kit, say yes.

No dial tone makes me think the problem is out of your control, take it up with your ISP.

One thing I would suggest first though is to unplug all other phones, skybox etc and plug the modem/router into your master socket. This will rule out any dodgy wiring in your house or defective microfilters.

Also worth noting, is that over the years there have been reports of Xmas lights interfering with ADSL, especially ones that flash in a pattern. Now I know it's only November but some people seem to thnk that Xmas starts the soon as bonfire night has been illepall
