[Microsoft] Exchange - HELP !!!!!
HI all,

Its the Exchange noob here. I have a problem. I deleted a mailbox. Yer no biggy, can restore it, well guess what cannot. The mailbox is shown as restorable ( has a little red X on it ) and all the emails are there.

So I recreated the user account in Active Directory no problem, went to Mailboxes, found the mailbox, right clicked reconnect, and then tried to find the user, and I get this message.

Now my concern is, that no matter what account I put in ( except for ASPNET and SUPPORT****** ) it doesn't find them, including mine, and I own the fecking thing, and administrator account, nada.

What the hell can be causing it not to see the users folder?, well only 99% of the users, it only see's the default users.

TAA - I think this one is for you.

Thanks to anybody that can assist.

Fordie

He blurred out the text... because I believe those are emails and private documents that would be showing. The focus is the error message. I have no clue what it is though. Google is your friend Fordman
The only thing I can do to help you is tell you to change the thread title. I thought it was going to be a thread about exchanging help, not help with Microsoft Exchange. You might get some more views if the thread title was changed.

Hi Tweak, I tried Google, I tried Exchange-Forums, nothing nadda. I did blur out the text, as this would show full account names, and it would not take a genius to work out the url and spam city here we come

@Racer X NZ - Yes I found that thread, thanks, and I am doing what is says, hense I am getting the error message.
Sorry Fordie, I totally missed this thread.

Anyways, are you 100% sure there aren't any Exchange attributes on the user you're trying to reconnect the mailbox to?
Exchange will only show you accounts which do not have any Exchange Attributes. You can remove them from within the Active Directory MMC (right click the user, exchange attributes, and select remove).

Have you run the clean up agent (don't do this if you've got mail retention off or at an age which is due to expire within a few minutes or so of running the clean up agent)? Until it runs, sometimes the mailbox won't actually reattach. Right click the Mailboxes "folder" under the Mail Store and click Run Cleanup Agent

If the cleanup agent is being a bitch, restart the information store service and it should kick in.

If that doesn't work, is anything nice showing up in the event logs? ese errors in particular?
Cheers TAA I shall give that a go
