really really terrible news , and I and I am confident many of the real and LFS karting folk / whole community will be shocked , its terrible for any death of course , but 2 relating to something that we all have an interest in ( motorsport ) is very sad.

Thoughts to BOTH the drivers familes and friends and such for the past week.

Calum

...
very sad

we share our sadness each other..time to be together..
I'm shocked to hear of a death on short circuit in a 100! Must have been a fairly big accident ...

Not good
I just saw this on the karting.co.uk UK forum.

I also saw a reply on the karting1 forum saying about revising the pit location, I can only guess he hit the pit wall or something.

RIP

i am actually quite worried weather there will be some kneejerk reaction concerning the safety of karting.
i strongly worry too as an old kartracer.
Again, my condolences to the racer who lost his life and his loved ones.

However, can I request just a bit more detail about the incident, aryton senna 87? I really wonder what kind of crash could have been THIS BAD. I just wonder what really happened. We can't have a good and valid discussion here if we just know nothing about the specifics of the crash.
I believe, although don't quote me on this that he flipped and hit a wall.

No official statement has been released to my knowledge.
Quote from www.karting.co.uk :Kart Racing Promotions Ltd. (17/11)
The following statement has been released by the organisers of the Easykart event which took place last Sunday.
“Kart Racing Promotions Ltd in association with Club100 confirm that during an owner/driver Easykart race organised by ourselves and held at Buckmore Park Kart Circuit on Sunday 12th November, a collision occurred between two drivers which resulted in Adam Goatley, a 29 year old from Sidcup suffering serious injuries which resulted in his death at Medway Maritime Hospital later in the day.
Police Officers from West Kent attended the scene of the collision and a full report into the collision is being compiled. Health and Safety officers at Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council were informed, as was the Medway Coroner.
Kart Racing Promotions Ltd in association with Club100 offer their sincere condolences to Adam's family and friends at this tragic time.”

RIP Adam Goatley
Thanks for the news article, though unfortunately it doesn't say much. We still don't have too much of an idea as to what happened exactly. Based on what's already said here, i guess it's a case of 2 drivers colliding with each other, resulting in one person getting bounced off the track, which soemhow caused the car to flip a MAYBE end up with the driver himself hitting a wall instead of the car itself, causing the driver to absorb an immense amount of shock himself and ultimately causing his death.

All I can do now is speculate, since there's still not a terribly large amount of info available here. Is the scenario I described above a rough picture of what happend? Please confirm.
There's no point speculating about it, if you really want to know then I'll post here when I hear more news about it. (Or you can check www.karting.co.uk)
Oh man , two deaths in a short time.. very sad
News like this makes me think twice about racing my 500CC Shifter Kart

(Sorry, not the place to discuss I know, please reply in PM. )
