New Audi TT
Anybody been driven in one or driven one? Was wondering how well/not well the 2.0TFSI drives and if it's quick as comparing it to my dad's Megane 225 which he swaps for a new TT in Jan. Any feedback would be appreciated!
Bump
i haven't driven one, but it looks a bit girly if you ask me (like the old one).

i saw it on the autoshow a few days ago.it looks better than old one but still looks like a TT and a TT looks like a spoiled fat kid. sorry.
They actually look better in the metal (imo) and the interior is pretty cool. Just don't get one in the incredibly-predictable silver!
I've heard good things about them, although I'll reserve judgement until it's been around for a while. Won't be hard to improve on the original, which was terrible in almost every regard.

And with the new one you can tell which is the front and which is the back without Audi having to put some angle iron on one end.
i think it is not good enough,i didnt like it.

i can only presume you replaced "flesh" with "metal" in that sentance?
or do they come in wood now too?
completely and surely metal...
My dad has ordered the 2.0TFSI in Dolphin Gray Metallic so it's not silver... he's actually never bought a sliver car himself lol

Heh you presume correctly, is it really at all misleading to do that?

Wood versions will follow shortly, along with actual flesh ones too! Apparently they sweat themselves clean, downside is you need 10 times as many air-fresheners but they do come with a free Wilkinson Sword 3 head electric razor to help you keep on top of stubble.
I drove one last week but never had any chance to drive it properly(know what I mean).Build quality is typicly audi superb, They've done away with the alloy centre console brackets as on the old ones but now have a longer centre console in place allowing for more switches and a lcd screen. Not sure about the dimensions but it looks loads bigger than the old one until you get inside and it's still fairly cramped. Rear seats are the same(only good for 5 year old kids with no legs) Thats about all I noticed(and some wierd strenthening brackets under the bonnet) Hope this helps.
I drove the 3.2l Version with Manual Transmission a few Weeks ago when the 1st TTs where delivered to our Dealer. I got an invitation to test drive the Car around a nice countryroad here with many hills, some good roads and some bumpy roads.
I don´t know how that Megane drives, but I can compare it to the old TT. I for myself drive a S6 Plus and I would never change it for a TT, but that´s another subject

I was just curious how the new one drives because my Dad owns the Old TT 1,8T and when the old one came with the 3.2l and Double Clutch System we tested it too. I drive a S6 Plus, but drove enough with the TT of my father to compare these 2 cars I think.

I never liked the old TT Shape from the Outside. The new one is much nicer and as another Forum Member mentioned you now can say which is the Front and which is the Back :-)

The Inside of the new one is really nice. But the old one feeled more "expensive" in the Details. There is less (or no) alloy (Aluminium??) in the Cockpit as it was in the old one. It´s just plain silver plastic which looks like alloy but it isn´t. That´s sad, because "touching" the interiour of the old TT was always nice because of that "real Metal" which was used.

On the Driving side compared to the old one the new one is really great. All is feeling more direct. You have less Body Roll and the Steering felt more exact. The Manual Transmission feels very good (as in all Audis I had so far), shifts very exactly and the Shifter is very close to the Steeringwheel. This is a very nice Idea (Audi is not the 1st with this Idea, the Carrera GT has it and maybe others too) and feels much better than in the Old TT and even in my Plus which is a whole different type of Car.

The Sound in the Inside was much better in the 3.2l old Version of the TT. But when you open the Window it´s a Blast. If you opened the Window on the old 3.2l TT the "Magic of the V6" was completely gone. The Sound designer seemed to decide that you should have only a nice Sound when the Window is closed. Not in the New one. Open Windows are really fun! And believe me: It´s so much fun that your gas consumption will rise.
But beware! If you drive around 100-110km/h with ONE open Window you feel like your Ears are used as Drums. The Air Pumps so hard that you feel like sitting in a Subwoofer. This is completely gone if you open the 2nd Window just a tad so there is a pressure equalization. Unbelievable that they did nothing against it when designing the Car. This speed is the common Speed on German Countryroads.

Another thing that was annoying is the new Rear Spoiler. It goes out at (I think) around 100km/h. Under 80km/h or so it is lowered again. And whenever it is lowered you hear that BUMP. That get´s really annoying when you drive Countryroads where you can do around 100km/h and then there is another little village... BUMP! You leave that Village, listen to that screaming V6, drive around those awesome corners and there it is... the next Village... BUMP!

The next thing I wondered was that the Hazard Lights lightnened up when I used the Brakes. OK, I was using them very hard some time, but ever just before ABS enganged. And whenever you brake hard the Hazard Lights went on. After the 2nd village where people looked a bit odd at me I tried to switch that of. I found that Switch with the ESP Button. Press it once and the Hazard Lights still go on. Press it for around 5 Seconds, the Hazard Lights go NEVER on. But then you don´t have ESP and ABS. So that´s not really a solution for a daily driver. But on the other hand if it´s your car and you are a daily Driver you won´t test the Brakes that massively. So there shouldn´t be Hazard light in normal Usage

The next one is the Magnetic Ride. In the TT the difference between the Normal and the Sport Mode can be felt, but are not as extreme as in the actual Carrera 911S. The 911S in normal Mode feels really comfortable and when you press the Button it get´s VERY firm. In the TT the normal Mode is firm (more than the 911S in Standard) and when you press the Button it changes not much (but it can be felt). So I wished I could have tested a TT without Magnetic ride to see how it handled and if the Price for that System is OK. Besides that it impressed me every time (in the TT and 911) how fast the Dampers change their behaviour when you press that Button. It happens just instantly. I not even takes a second from one Setting to the other. That´s really impressive!

All in all the new TT in my Eyes is really better in nearly all Aspects. Better especially on the Drivers side. On the Interiour side not really, because of the used Materials.
If you have the Old one and get the new one I think you will have much fun

Sorry if my English is not perfect, but I am not a native Speaker and the Text would have been much better in Germany (I could express more Emotions / Feelings) but then I wouldn´t be readable by everyone here ;-)
The old TT: I was at an autoshow, and I fitted myself inside one of those (at the time) new TT's. I was amazed at how... I didn't fit in there! I asked if they could show how fast the roof would close... It didn't work

I love car shows, I was 16 years old, and some lady tried to sell me a volvo convertible, do I really look that rich? At my age!

I drove both the new 3.2 quattro and the 2.0 TFSI and in the latter i accidently pressed a button and the rear spoiler came out manually when the car was parked. Surely a good surprise

I think the new design is really cool but the mirrors still stand out too much. They dont look like they are part of the car - too big.

You forget that these Ladies are there to look pretty and not so sell cars. Remember: The really important things in Life are done with a Pen and a piece of Paper.
No need for B**bs

I don't know how you call it in English, but it's called a car salon. It's meant to show new cars to the public, and sell cars. I didn't say it was a babe... It was a lady... She wasn't ugly, my gf was getting jeaulous bc all those girls were trying to sell me cars (what their job is ).
Thanks for all your info. on the car. Sounds nice but sadly, delivery is delayed til April
It's a pile of metal and plastic bolted together with a high price tag and you cry because it's delayed? Gotta love people with little to worry about.
Now is the ideal time to get a decent car instead then! Don't take the boring option and get a granny car - get a sports car! The kids, if you have any, can walk. It'll do them a world of good, and they'll thank you later in life.

No, a TT isn't a sports car. Never was. Never will be. Unless the sport is lardy, boring, overservoed, silver, ugly and pretentious.

Sorry to go onto an old thread but the new tt is much improved!!
After 10 months he finally got it!
Incredible drive!
IMHO it's a very good looking car, but if you consider that underneath it's a Golf, which in both the GTI and R32 versions it's quite comparable to the TT (same engines), then i start to wonder if it makes sense: for TT 2.0 money you should get an R32 if i'm right.
Yeah, basically. I'd rather have an R32 any day. Same kind of power and performance as a 3.2 TT DSG but without looking like a hairdresser, and people will let you out at junctions in a Golf.

Oh wait, but hairdressers drive something else don't they Tristan? Fully agree with your comments about the "sporty" TT though. A friend of mine has one of the new ones, and eventually I just gave up pointing out that it's not a sports car, when he kept mentioning how great and sporty and stylish (cough) his car was at any opportunity.
350Z FTW, would have one of these if it had room for parasites in the back. Second hand E46 M3 is now extremely good value as well.....hehe missus can't complain as parasites fit in the back
