I vote to use results from before the crash, and I'd say it would be better to halve the points to give the results from the incomplete race less weight.
I wont vote as I wasnt physically involved in racing here.
I would just like to say sorry for the server crash. I know it can always happen but I do feel bad about it, as we were happy to host the race on our server. It has never happened before and all that the host could tell me was that it was indeed a server crash and it has something to do with either LFS or the OS running on our server (hows that for vague). Again, very sorry... hope you can come to a proper solution for the race results.
On a side note, I've enjoyed looking at the races so much...! It was a fantastic fight for the first three positions... congrats to all for very nice and fair driving!
I voted for racing again with quali results as they were. That's because I had 12 fps and tomorrow I'm getting a new gfx so it can only be better for me
But really you can count my vote as 0.5 for option 2 and 0.5 for option 3
I voted for keep results before the crash. Im really the only one who will loose out on points due to my early departure, and not really sure out of all of us who wants to redo that race
I vote for going with "full" points, especially considering there's a second pool. I was thinking maybe it'd be fun to be able to compare results between the two pools.
I think half points would be best personally..too many factors influenced the overall race result.
If there are plans of a cross-league finale, surely we could just add the points we withdraw now, or supposing an equal amount of teams from both leagues would participate, it would not matter.I'm just speculating though..but I think there was talk of that at some point?
We have some "endurance" events on the calendar. My suggestion:
Make one of the remaining races into endurance race with doubled points and scrap this race. Imho, you can't give full points because the race wasn't finished. The another pool argument isn't valid imho, because we are running separate championships.
And I would have defenately passed Fel if I had the chance to run full laps
Well, these problems happens in sim-racing sometimes. Atleast in Endurance League they had rule saying that if more than 3/4 or was it 2/3 of the race is done, they will use results from last full lap - just for comparison from tonight we did 80% of the race distance. But in this league there is no this kind of rule but maybe adding something similar after this event to those?
Hyper: Do you really think just leaving this race out would be a good idea, you practiced a month for this and spend your evening on that server tonight for nothing? Imo even redoing the race would be better than that, but my vote is just to use these results and continue, half of full points.
1. Before giving out points I would watch the replay and check first if there are any rules broke. These should have impact on the points.
2. Imho, for an unfinished race, half the points is the maximum.
3. And as it is, everyone on the server had disconnects.
I voted for the "scrap the race option" based on these points. Hald of full points is ok too, but anything else for unfinished race is imho too much
EDIT: I think I was a bit too hasty on this matter. I think scrapping the race wouldn't be a wise decision. Sorry for not thinking before voting
Yeah, scraping the race and making another enduro isn't really an option - the other tracks on the list are a bit too intense for an enduro.... can you imagine an enduro at yesterday's combo? No thanks. I'll actually be asking n2oaddict to step in for me in the next South City race because the track is just too tight, and these cars are impossible to race closely at 300ms+ ping.
As for rules, there will definitely be an extension on connectivity after this event. I just did't expect anything like this to happen. Does this sound fair?:
If more than 2/3 of the race is complete, results from the final lap are used with 50% points. If less than 2/3 of the race is complete, a repeat of the race is done in place of the following LXCC event and the remaining events are shifted forwards. Or should the event be redone at the end of the season?... connectivity rules poll, I think is in order.
EDIT: Moved Dustin's post here. Please continue the discussion about future rules there. This thread is for the situation with last night's race.
