Yep look at Forza or PGR. The manufacturers (many of them the same as in GT series) didn't seem to mind damage in these games.

and yes thats the truth; the creator of GT4 really did want it to be a simulator

If the main devs really, really wanted to create a true simulator, why they are still sticking with GT series & Sony? I bet they have earned so much money that some main developers could just quit, even change platform to a better one and do a real sim... if they wanted to do that. Of course PS3 will give them more technical possibilities but the technical requirements haven't been the biggest problem - not even back in PS1 era. It's just the mentality, "let's make a arcade-semi-sim and call it ultimate driving simulator".

when creating a game like GT4, above all the game has to sell. "Real" Sims are going to harder to sell and develope. the strategy i think GT4 team took was good. I doubt there any developers are unhappy with GT4 in terms of its realism. the more calculations u through into the sim the more Testing is needed. and remember there on a Console so when they launch the game its launched, they can't release a quick patch to fix any issues. i think the did a decent job Balancing game (developement wise)

except the original thinker of the GT serie..

as for patches.. well.. thats what EA thinks now, but unfortunatly not everyone out there (like me) has online for a console so.. thats another reason why Carbon is extremely hated because the offline consoles (all but PC, PS3, X360) dont get like 5 or 6 cars the online consoles get which is retarded

The way I see it, the only reason MS gave the origional Xbox a Hardrive is so that they could release patches. After all, we all know they would have to. ha!

I thought the whole point of a console was instant gaming? Seems everyone's been brought in by gimicks that us PC gamers have been enjoying for years...

GT4 introduced a photo mode, which you can save to a USB thumb drive, that's how

Also, the car whitey took a picture of is made like that, that is the stock car.

There's two ways you can do it though, you can go to a track with a car, and pay "3" whatever for photo mode, and drive around, and afterwards it will take you to the replay where you can take pictures of your car at that track.

The other way is on the main screen, go to the top left, and you'll see "photomode" or something like that, and just stick in your thumb drive in, and take the picture, hit start and save it to the drive.

I like it better on replay i drift a few laps and save em! thats how i got all mine!

Oh how I miss beautiful graphics, real cars, and real tracks. That's why I have GT4... it's not for actually for playing.

I'm gonna go hang around the 3D renders section for abit...

You can barely see anything

I've got a load of Tourist Trophy screens which I uploaded before my old PC died. Never uploaded the GT4 screens and unfortunately I don't have a PS2 anymore.
