Hey all,

Im not too sure if i posted in the right section but i am having problems with my speakers.

I am currently using Yamakawa's CSR (http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=12863)....with DaveWS's 2nd sound pack. The problem i am having is that there is a crackling sound when i'm playing.

I have changed my driver's but the sound is still there. The sound card i'm using is the Sound Blaster Auidgy 2, but i'm not using pc speakers. I'm using an old school Pioneer VSX-D337 reciever for my sounds.

I have installed CSR and using DaveWS's sound pack on my brothers pc, im not too sure what sound card he has but its model is above mine. His speaker system is the logitech Z-680 and there is still some crakling but only for a second every now and then.

I would like to know if anyone is having this same problem and if someone HAD this problem how did they fix it.

Thanks for reading my post(sorry if it's long i just want to make it easier for you to be able to find a fix )...Bryan...

Sound blaster are bad, they write crap drivers but anyway...

Turn down the volume in the game or on CSR to like 2 or something, you;'l have to turn the volume up on your amp but it will get rid of crackling. This is what I did. Also reduce the wind and echo volume in game.

I use onboard nforce4 audio, works fine when I turned down the volumes on those settings, before I heard tiny crackling especially when under the bridge on blackwood or lots of cars around. There's a few posts about it in the test patch fourm, if you do a search you'd probably find em. I don't know what else to try, sorry mate.
Thanks Davo. Ill try a search mate
sorry to bring up my old thread but i have gotten rid of the problem by installing kk drivers(not sure if thats what its called, my brother installed it)

i've also bought new speakers and the CSR program and DaveWS's sound pack is awsome

kX drivers, to be precise

They are open source drivers for Creative Cards which are supposed to be better than the standard ones (seeing as a few creative cards are technically identical, but driver limited!)
