Car modifications: WARNINGS
(i figured the all caps makes warning look the way it should; it just looks weird lowercased)

anyways i decided i should start a thread of all of your strange, stupid, or even sarcastic warnings you have discovered when modding anything to your car (yes.. a real car)

so i will start us off

WARNING: disconnecting or changing mufflers or any other form of detouring the sound out of your cat. causes 'must-floor-gas-every-time-i-go' syndrome

(friend of mine and i just opened up the space between my muffler and cat. about an hour ago and.. wow it sounds awesome; unfortunately its to loud lol so i need to close it up the gap a little more)
Warning: Modifying your car will make a small niche of people think you are cool, and everybody else think you're a t**t.

I've been there and done it, so i can't really talk, but luckily i got out of it, after loosing about £1500 in 12 months on an M Plated citroen AX. Probably paid too much in the first place.
Not from modifying, from necessity.

The exhaust system on my mum's car was replaced with the wrong one (hers had a cat, the new one didn't). Instead of taking the car off the road while we waited, we ran it catless for a while. Flames would come from the pipe, excellent.

Don't do it, kids.
Warning: Putting nitromethane in your fuel tank will shorten the life of your piston rings

Yes, I did do that to my old Micra the day before it was due to be taken up the scrapyard, yes it did breathe new life into the engine, then promptly shot half of it out the exhaust

Replacing the rear muffler with a straight through pipe will make your 306 sound like a v8 when idling, a tractor when under throttle and a rally car backfiring when decelrating but also wake up half your neighbourhood when you come home from clubbing.
I know nothing about mechanics, but I have this rule:

You might think your new "Plastic Spoiler 5000" kit looks "t3h p1mp" but in actual fact it makes your car look like a pushchair and has all the aerodynamic impact of a damp housebrick.
