The online racing simulator
This maybe a silly question.... [solved]
Hi there everyone I am a newbie and have just sent off for my license. I downloaded a version of the game under full version and the uk. I started up on it and put my steering wheel on but I could not drive the car. I sorted out the buttons so they were ok but the wheel went on a mind of it's own and the car would just not budge. I put it into auto for starters so that I oculd just get a feel for the car and worry about gears yet but I just could not do anything. I bet I have done something wrong that is very easy but just wondered if anyone could help.

Cheers

Richard

Do you have the correct driver for the wheel?
Yeah the wheel is fine as I have used it on other games before. It is a R440 with pedals as well but when I was picking what button to use for brake and acceleration when I pressed down on the pedals it was not recognising it so I was wondered if it is because it does not recognise that make of steering wheel maybe.
You have to have wheel selected at the control menu and then assign the axle(s) there.
With the game running go to options/controls/axis/ff press wheel/js at the top and look at the available axis on the right, press pedals and move wheel and you should be able to work out what axis is what. Then assign the relavent axis to throttle/brake and steering by clicking on what you want, steering for example then click on the axis you want to use for it.

when all done click recalibrate axis (near the bottom) and move all pedals and wheel to full position (lock to lock) then back again, then click yes to lock the calibration.

then you should be good to go

EDIT: Nearly forgot you may have to invert the brake and or throttle axis (little invert button)

Cheers that is great thanks very much
Although its not the best, i'm fairly happy with my R440. Let me know how you get on, may have to compare settings.
Thanks for your help guys, have sent off for me S2 license so can get to race other cars and tracks and best off better drivers who don't just want to crash all the time
