0-100/0-60 acceleration
Hi just wanted to ask a question,

I have been fiddling around with the car settings of the LX6(The roadcar I believe is the fastest accelarating to 100 kph/60 mph???) to try and get as fast as possible to 100 kph/60 mph, kind of like the Ariel Atom .

Anyways I ended up doing really short gear but I feel like I spent more time changing gears , thus slowing me instead of making me faster. Is there anyway to make a road car in LFS go really fast to 100/60 sacrificing the top speed?
Thanks
It should.. but dunno how

Yeah but those doesnt concentrate on the 0-100 thing but just do 400 meters as fast as possible, no steering whatsoever
I'd say if you got your settings right for top speed, so you've got the good 3-6th gears, then just change either only gear 1 or gear 1&2 to the fastest accelerating 0-60 time. Then maybe blend the gears together a bit.
K thanks il try
If you have the latest patch (U30), type /exit (extraordinary interfaced turbocharger) on the chat screen and you get a boost, trust me it works.

Wow not like im new to LFS
I knew it would work!

Yep, that's pretty easy.

First, you need a setup that maximises traction off the line. My drag sets do exactly that.

All you need then adjust is the gearing to optimise it for the 0-100km/h (0-62mph) or 0-60mph dash.

Yes, you will lose more time using all the gears to accelerate to that speed, I'd say the optimum is never going to be more than 3, depending on the car more like 2 or even 1 (lots of power required there). It's all about using gear to make the most use of the tyres.

You could try looking at the Gear Ratio Calculator program I made (link in sig), it performs some reasonably accurate acceleration testing which should help you in deciding.
as far as i remember there was some thread bout 0-100 and 0-60 and someone measured times needed to get to that speed. It may be helpful
Corvette Z06's 1st gear is set to redline at 61mph. A Caterham CSR 260 is also normally set to redline around 60mph. In the case of a 190hp LX6, you'll probably use 2 gears. The shift time is significant.

That's for a real-life manual car though. Shift times in LFS are rediculously short for the road cars.
