A1 Sim Series
Hi there,

I just wondered if anyone would like to join my series. I have a forum for it and have added the link below. The game is run by myself on a game engine I have. All the cars are equal like in real A1. If you like to enter all you need to do is email or pm me your team name and the drivers you would like to race for you. You can pick a nation that is not in the real A1 series and you can manage two nations if you wish. Also I have broken Great Britain down to England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland to bring in some rivalry Six nations have already entered so if you are interested then please check the site first as the nation may of been picked already. The forum is setup for managers to do press releases as well as have a bit of interaction and banter. Once I have enough entries max is 22 then will start. If I get more than 22 then will do a two tier series with promotion and relegation. Please feel free to look at the forum and if you like to join either email me or pm or if you have any questions on how it works or anything I will help

Thanks

what kind of game engine will that be? something like BATracer?
I am sorry I do not know the Batracer one, what do you do on that one?
I dont really understand it... I had a quick look on the forum and couldn't see any screenshots

Also you say that there are current F1 drivers signed up already!? Are you taking the piss?

What kind of game is it? By the sounds of it, it's some sort of manager game. But the "Sim" part in the game title throws me a bit. Maybe it simulates team management... ?

You might want stop calling it "A1" as it could get you in alot of trouble.
Maybe A2, A11, B1 or something instead... Sounds like a traffic report
I think maybe you have got it a little wrong. F1 drivers are not signed up in it really as it is a manager game and people have picked F1 drivers for the nations they are. It is a manager game where you manage a nation like in real A1GP. With the name A1 Sim Series it is ok, if I called it A1GP then you would get in trouble. Screen shots will hopefully be added soon as managers can say what the cars can look like ie. nations flags colours etc. Obviousally it is not to everybodys taste this sort of game and I am sorry to do a thread about it but just thought some people maybe interested in joining it as have had one person on here take up two nations

batracer.com

for your reference, sounds like something similiar?
I dont know if it's a forum game, web game, a download, a roleplaying game or a make it up as you go along game.

Some details of what this is might not go a miss, your forums reveal nothing at all about what this game is.

Your inviting the Welsh National team to a game... But a game of what?

SimA1 you say, and I say, ok so it is Sim as in not real. Are we going to get in Go Karts and pretend to be nations? Is it played on computer? That's probably a given, however, for all I know you might be using tic tac toe to decide the race results...
Ok I am sorry if I have not explained it properly. The game is done via my computer. I will have not effect on the result and the cars are all the same so nobody has a advantage like in real A1. You will be the manager of a nation or nations as you can pick two. You will have to pick a team name as well as two drivers for your nation. eg. Team Joe Bloggs Racing Team Brazil - R Barrichello + B Senna.

You can pick any nation you like even ones that are not in the real series. Also you can pick any racing driver the only ones you cannot are ones that have retired or ones that are sadly not with us anymore. There are 22 places on the grid but if I get more nations in than that then will look into a two tier system in the game. Also Great Britain has been split up into England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales mainly because there might be people who live them places that would like to manage there nation and also it brings in close rivalry.

The forum is updated with the nations entered so far so if you like to join keep looking just incase the one you would like to be has been taken. Once I have enough teams/nations in then the season will begin. Races will be done Saturday and Sunday. The rounds will be see two races a sprint race and a feature race. The feature race will have a pitstop. The points in both races will be the top ten which is different to the real A1GP. During the race weekend managers will submit the driver that will take the wheel in the round. Also managers can say when the driver will have his pitstop in the feature race and also what sort of mentality the driver will have in each race. eg. aggresive, steady etc etc.

There will be a update just before the race weekend to say what the weather will be like for the weekend so managers can see that to decide when to go in pits and also the driver mentality. Race results and news will be updated on the site. Managers can register on there so they can also make press releases as well as chat to other managers. Also there is a feedback section so can make improvements to the game as it is only just started so there will bound to be parts that people may think could do this better or why do we not do this. I hope that helps but if anyone has anymore questions just give me a pm or reply on here and I will do my best to answer

Someone quite clearly didn't pay attention in his english language GCSE, where they explain the advantages of paragraphs in making extensive prose more readable.
count me in !!
I have just changed it above so hopefully it is not to bad on the eye, sorry just I was just typing about how it works and that and just got carried away
For anyone who wants to know more on how the series is run I have put a thread up on the series forum under the general board section. Also the nations that have entered so far have been updated too so if anyone would like to join please check their first just incase it has been taken.

Thanks

Rich
The series will start in the new year now and the dates for the rounds are up on the site. There are still four spaces left for anyone interested to join.

Cheers

Hi man. I don't get it , is it some kind of game like this one "http://www.f1portal.net"?, u tell the driver when to stop, made his setup for the car, and then just wait to the day of the race and see what the luck has for u?
Yeah that is it just that you manage a nation or two but the concept is still the same as that one.

Richard
i really wanna give this a try can you pm me please
Cheers for joining round two is this weekend, the results and news is updated on the site.
Any managers that are in the series or people that took part in the old one or like to join if you have any ideas to maybe make the game more involved for managers then please pm me. I have asked a couple of managers and hope to maybe add some new ideas and make it more fun for managers in the game as at the moment you get to pick who drives in the weekend for you as well as drivers mentality.

Cheers

Richard
I have had good feedback from managers and some new rules for next season will be that nations will have a sponsor and from that sponsor they will recieve money. You will have to nominate your driver for each round like this season but they will ask to be paid for the round (money will depend on the level of driver you pick so for example Team Australia Webber would ask for more than Reindler) Teams will also have to pay for repairs if the nations car retires in races. Teams and nations will win money though if they finish on the podium at the rounds.

There might be more new things for the new season but hopfully that sounds good to managers in the game and people maybe thinking of joining as it means that you will get more involved in the nation as you have to look after the finances of the team, obviousally it means you will have to keep up to date on the rounds but they will be every weekend like this season

Series Optimistic for next season

Next season will be bigger and better. That is what the news was as the series looks to build on this season. News has come out that next season managers will deal with finances for the teams as costs will occur for booking drivers and also for mending cars that retire in the rounds.

"This season has gone well so far but we know there are areas to improve. Next season managers will deal with costs for the teams and also managers will be able to manager up to 3 or 4 nations if they wish. We are very happy with the field this season but some managers have stopped during the season which could be because of the lack of things the manager can do."

"Next season will see more things for them and so we would welcome current managers and also new managers to join. The field can hold upto 22 cars (nations) but if we had a lot more interest we could do a two tier competition. There are areas in the world we would like to branch out in as we have some nations like Poland, Belgium, Israel that are not known for motorsports so it is great to see them out there and would encourage other smaller nations as well as bigger ones to join."
8 nations have been confirmed for next season so far in this management sim game. 14 spaces left so if anyone would like to join or know more about the series either pm myself or look onto the website and pm me there if you need to know anything regarding it.
