If you want F10/F9 graph overlays to show suspension data and damage why wouldn't you want an F10+ menu to show engine damage? With your logic it would be the obvious next step. It would show, emphasize and demonstrate very clearly how sophisticated and complex LFS' engine and transmission damage calculations, physics, are.

I don't think you understood the sarcasm and point of my reply in that post. It's very relative to you saying we should remove the F-huds alltogether just because it isn't real.

I've never agreed to have them removed completely, that's quite obvious. Funny topic though, because anything about removing options is always a hard debate --- I mean that Hardcore Mode discussion never really hit it off with many people. So all you can really decide is to make it an "option". Yet it probably isn't much of the developer's main focus to work on something like this, because in a sense it just would be taking away from all the creativity they have in their simulation.

Actually that would be pretty interesting....
I'm not really getting what you are saying with your last post. What I think is that the current F9/F10s etc. should not be the final say on those things, which is one thing I'm not so sure of. I'm more on the side of enhancing and limiting instead of removing. But in the end I would remove the current F9/F10 and show some (depending on car, settings etc.) of the information differently. With the engine damage it would be much more cooler and _again_ realistic if you had only the dash lights telling you that there is an electrical malfunction or that the oil sensor is reporting something strange. Warning lights on dash instead of graphic stuff

To me the whole idea of hard core mode sounds a bit off because implementing a such system is a lot of choises and if you make it to toorigid people won't use it and if you make it too "free", everybody uses it.

I don't get it
Quote from deggis :9) Why you want LFS to be physics simulation rather than racing simulation?

Racing is physics.

I think there is a question of what people would find more enjoyable, certainly some people would want a hyper realistic LFS that requires you to do all of the mundane things you do at a track day while some prefer just to enjoy racing. There needs to be a comprise in allowing ease of use to keep the audience as large as possible while still simulating all of the technical aspects correctly(which I think LFS currently is doing a good job at)
Posting isn't physics.
Quote from Bob Smith :Posting isn't physics.

yes it is posting is a result of lots of chemical reactions (or rather lack thereof) in the posters brain which is essentially physics

And the electrons on telephone wires.
