Seems pretty cool so far, only got Ridge Racer 7 (!) but quite a few demos for other games which are better at showing the power of it.

Not seen enough to be able to write a comprehensive review yet, but will as he gets more games for it

is it true that u will need a new tv for it?
i heard that, that u need a new tv to get the full graphics power out of it

Well it depends, like the XBOX 360 you can connect it via HD components (R G B phonos) but also by standard comonents (Yellow vid, and red and white for sound) and I guess there'll be Scart connectors etc.

But yes, to get a HD picture (720p, 1080i etc) you'll need a HD READY TV.

It's actually bigger than I thought, knew it was big, bu bigger than sky+, thats just ridiculous, best I suild new support beams for my TV stand...

Only thing is PS3 is regional, so unless you chip it (And can't go online) you'll have to import your games.... (AFAIK)

Well my housemate spent £620 importing it... so it's relative to how you value money really

He has a 2nd income from playing online poker though, so far easier for him to justify spending that much on a games console than your average joe like me though.

Only the UK PS3 will be regional. US and JAP are region free.

One of the guys in mercury got one and was broadcasting it throuh windows media player, was quite cool to watch, graphics looks very very noice!

Ok so about this regional thing, does this mean that the region free consoles will be able to play the UK games, or will this pour f00 have to keep on buying foreign ones?

I believe that the UK games will work on all PS3's, however, UK PS3's will only play UK Games and Films

nope, from what I have read, the console itself is region coded, a import console will not connect to the UK based internet service, and as such will not allow online play (Not sure as to the region coding of the games themselves though)

Even so, he still has all of the servers outwith the UK to play on, well by the way it sounds as he can allready get online with it.

But the uk is running yet, so he on the Japan servers
