I've never had a problem with my front panel USB. I use it swapping from my Momo to my joystick for FS9 all the time. Also plug and remove my thumbdrive in there daily.

the front panel works on mine to an extent, but complex devices like mp3 players (ipod, zen touch etc, not the shitty ones), interface devices, and mobiles dont work properly. they either dont get detected properly by windows or they do get detected but just dont work.

things like pendrives, mice, keybs, even my wireless lan adapter work on the front panel. and i know theres nothing dodgy about the wiring.

The front USB ports on my homebuilt PC work just great. That's where I plug my DFP in when I play, I plug my RCA Lyra in there, my jumpdrive, my digicam, even my usb wireless card. Never any problems

MG.... could it be that the wire going into the wheel might be loose?
