Just as its too easy to put a giant penis in a skin, or other offensive material. I've seen a number of questionable skins that have originated from LFSworld downloads. I rarely see complaints though.

As for prices sky rocketing, I again stress the point that no one would force the server admin to have downloadable content. If anything it would just open up additional server renting options. See it as an ultimate option if you will.
How about a compromise then?

A part of LFSWorld could be assigned for the uploading of skin packs, which can then be downloaded by anyone and enabled by any host. The upload process would monitor the images the same way that skins are, preventing the use of offensive images.
This means the host could use AMD logos instead of Intel, for example.

Then when the host sets up their server, they choose which skin pack to enable and then when people join they either download the required files or use that pack if they have them already.
@dajmin, i can't imagine BMW would be to impressed if they saw all of their intel ads being turned into other [oposing] company ads

i think its fine the way it is right now; someone makes an edited DDS set.. if you like it, great, download it, if not you dont have to; but that changes it everywhere, as said before, never look at the ads anyway (i can't even think of one ad that i use for a marker)

STOP rite there, I'd just like to point out that BMW, Castrol, AMD and all the rest of the current "so called" sponsers can only compete against such a change in AN UNFINISHED GAME, 'impressed' as you say...they will be pissed off! I hope to all mighty God that the above mentioned Co.'s don't hold a major advertiesing contract against LFS because as you know that can only end one way.

Then; if we manage to say no to submitting our development rights to the slaughter ie:EA\ or any other major money hungry Co...then we will always have a say.

So what I say is keep the €£$ in the LFSCommunity family.

@Dajmin: Yes;pointing out the simplicity of it by integrating it into the current skins setup,
And don't forget we could 'Turn it off too' cos Gentlefoot wants that and stuff:P
well, if they do

this would be the ruling on it

S2 servers sending out changed advertisements, some of which may include those that are actual advertisements that have been placed in the game, and other false ones like donbikes and scavier etc. (because ATC, and evostar are real companies too [obviously so are intel, bmw.. etc.])

anyways, this is how the ruling would go on it, most likely it would be required for the servers to upload the edited files to LFSWorld or other LFS site, for them to be downloaded on to everyones computers while they play. IF the real advertisements are indeed edited, this is what would happen: everyone that owns S2 has payed for it, and if they are true license contracts in there, basically the licensed companies would argue that we would be paying for the game, and receiving other advertisements than what they agreed on, therefore the contract would be violated, and the devs would be in one hell of a bad sue case

keep in mind, that only is true if the devs actually have signed some contract that has any type of money agreement within that contract

Nice post, Les not forget how I emphisise not finished, the type of contract cant be extensive, i suppose unless the devs have renewed it in the last six months or so, basically the Co's would not give away too much money on a beta. and if we prove that this community can "individually' produce money through individual hosts in turn creating jobs btw...not many but u know its better than in 8 months time all we have is a LOCKED untouchable final LFS.
