Just been looking at some screenshots of South City - so who's the South Londoner on the dev team?

SE9 is the other side of Blackheath to me - so is South City based on a section of the South Circular, the Rochester Relief Rd, or some other RL line of asphalt?
Scawen lives in Twickenham, and I think Eric might be from around that neck of the woods too. But whilst South City does bear some resemblance to real road layouts, it's not very accurate at all, partially made up, and the signs don't always fit (i.e. they wouldn't be from the same area).
I have noticed that some of the buildings in South city look very much like some of the buildings in Bromley

Another question that occured to me - does South City hit the frame rate harder than a track like Blackwood. My computer is a bit of a borderline case, performance wise....
Well south city is cool, but no my fav haha, and my pc well has the same fps.

Quote from Blas89 : and my pc well has the same fps.

Same as on other tracks, am I correct that's what you mean? 'Cause if so that'll probably settle it for me. I won't be a regular online warrior; the frame rates suffer too much through turn 1 to make it wholly enjoyable, but, in any case, I'm very impressed the way LFS runs. Its pretty much the only sim I can run (apart from GPL and Racer - and the latter only with a single car)
I get the same FPS rate on every track, which on my modest lower end computer is about 60-80 solo and around 30 on a full grid. I do also use a lot of the modded high res textures and the "Nice" reflection mod.

But SO doesn't hit the system any harder than anywhere else. Which is nice

Infamy at last! Mwhahahahaha!

Ahem...

I also get single-digit fps at T1. This is probably not because of the graphical complexity of the track, but because LFS needs to do lots of extra calculations (collision checks, dust, body deformations). The worse the mayhem, the bigger the fps hit.

Have you turned all the graphics options down? Some tips:
- The LFS Wiki has some info about the effect on performance.
- You could switch off the mirrors (Shift-M) and switch to wheel view, until you're on the main straight.
- Check not only the configuration options in LFS, but also those of the graphics card's driver, and of DirectX.

Yes i mean that my pc has the same fps on every tracks, but in tracks that has many buildings on pits, fps go down a bit, but is normal on this pc.

Yep I always experience an fps hit on SO compared to more open tracks like Westhill for example. Normally I get 80+ fps in single player but a 15 car multiplayer on SO will bring my fps down to a crawl. This is on a 7600GT @ 1680x1050 with 4xAA and 16xAF, will be upgrading to a 7900GS soon to be able to play without any slowdowns.
lfs depends more on cpu power, that upgrade will do nothing.
He's right, a 7600GT is total overkill for LFS, you'll definately be CPU limited all the time even with that card, let alone a faster one. Also your minimum FPS is usually CPU limited rather than GPU, so even in other games your more likely just to boost your maximum fps.

Yeah, hadn't thought of switching to wheel view though... Additionally, just been reading about dynamic lod. Took me ages to find the control for it (its under 'miscellanous', rather than 'graphics', where I expected to find it) and I note now that its set to 0.5. Will try it later set at 1 and see how that helps.
