Looking for a GOOD still pictures editor
Hello people, I've been looking for a good but fairly priced editor for screen shots. I tried Corel Paint Shop and found out it's not what i want. I want to be able to crop objects onto other objects and i saw the one guy add a rain effect in his screen shot it was very amazing. Most stores around here will not return opened hardware so I want to buy the correct one, MUCH help would be needed PLEASE.

Thanks -Mike
Adobe Photoshop CS2
Adobe Photoshop CS1 - runs faster for some reason with pretty much all the same functionality as CS2
hello
With either of the two programs am I able to create a stunning picture, and does it have effects?
depends what kind of effects your looking for? photoshop comes with some standard blur and texture effects but your much better off googling for tutorials on how to make your own particular efect your looking for.
photoshop is the most powerful image editing software available atm so you can do pretty much anything with it.
hello
Ok, But dumb qustion, what would i google? particular effects? Or how to make my own effects? HaHa sorry about the dumb qustion
what effect are you looking for?
hello
Well I saw that some guy made it look like it was raining durning game play and it was bad ass, looked so real, i've been googleing and search has came up dry
Paint Shop Pro can do it. Any graphics program with filters, layers and image control will be able to do it.

Gimp
Paint Shop Pro
Photoshop
Many many more...
hello
Never thought of googling RAING EFFECT Sorry, i now feel dumb

Google likes right spelled words, you know.
hello
Yes i know, i spelled it correct in google, but added an "E" for no reason on here, and if i did spell it wrong on google it would come up as " ALSO TRY "....... illepall
As far as I'm concerned, Photoshop CS2 is the gold standard when it comes to photo editing programs. However, I'm guessing you're not going to be able to afford it, it's around $650 USD. However, I was reading in some magazing, either Outdoor Photographer or Popular Photography about the Microsoft Digital Imaging Suite. Apparently it's much more than just a tool for reducing red-eye an emailing photos. I guess it actually does have some substance, also, it can use Adobe Photoshop filters and effects. The pro version costs about $110USD if I recall correctly.

If you cant afford CS2 get the Gimp
Photoshop CS2 is my program of choice and is also best for Digimodding cars.
check These ones I recommend paint.net or pixia(not listed)
@typeRcivic, you do realize you dont have to put a heading into each post

also, using quick reply is.. well.. quicker, just hit the little notepad button on the bottom right of a post

i use paint shop pro 9
@serpentine, yes... and corel screwed it all up too!
it doesn't have half the functions 9 has, and its missing some obviously EXTREMELY important functions such as "the hand" to move the picture around... retarded corel..

Photoshop is overkill if you don't use it at work. It's great for a professionnal but it cost way too much for amateur skins/screenshots/photos edition. May I suggest Gimp, which is free and fine enough for most use or Paint Shop Pro if you are willing to spend a few bucks for a user interface slightly more appealing to people struck in the MS Windows world.

I have used all three in the past and they are all great pieces of software.
I like post headings :P
Go the GIMP. It'll give you an idea of what editing is like, and it's FREE! Free I tells ya!
