Any FF specialists here?
just wondering if anyone here is a specialist with the FF cars? I'm a TBO racer and i've been experimenting with the FXO and I like it because I find that I can brake later and take corners faster but my corner exit still needs some work and i've been experimenting with LFB on some high speed corners, any tips that you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated
Anyone who cares about winning races in the TBO class drives the FXO. This is a huge sore point for people like me who can't stand FWD. If it were up to me, all the cars in the TBO class would have the same power and tire size. Mass is a little different because it's realistic to expect the FWD car to be lighter than the RWD car.

Main tip is grab a set from the Inferno Setup Field and maybe tweak it a bit to your liking.

Just keep practising and concentrating on the throttle pedal. As sad as it is, FXO doesn't seem to have real drawbacks compared to RB4 and XRT... so it's really competitive when leaving a corner. If you have a proper setup (I use rather oversteering one) and if you manage to keep your tyre temps down enough, you'll get it quite easily

Without witnessing your driving it is hard to comment, but my guess is you are entering too fast. Slow in-->Fast out, it's a winner every time. Also in the TBO's it's easy to turn the wheel too far and start scrubbing the tyres rather than keeping traction, and this burns the rubber up after a few laps.

Feel free to stop by the STCC servers, they're frequently busy as TBO servers go, and you should be able to get a good setup and some tips there by asking nicely.
I used to use all entirely FF before the patch came out and the RWDs became fun.

What I found with the FXO (which I used to compete in the ESL) is that you need to do lots of trail braking to carry the speed to the apex. It is also important with these cars not to let the back slide too much as this scrubs off too much speed.

Make sure your pedals are set to separate axis.

I think you have thinked FF is FWD

So Im pretty good in all cars, becouse I hit 102.xx % of in just few laps, only BF1 is little problemfor me, it's damn fast (INSANE FASTillepall)

I like much more XRT and RB4 then FXO, infact I don't like FXO at all,'cus it's much faster then other two cars, hmmm it's not faster; it just has bether times

I hate understeer. Oversteer is pritty fun but if you oversteer to much you just losing the time and same thing is whit FWD (understeer) too.

So you losing time on exit 'couse you understeer too much. And you understeer to much 'couse you hit the gas to early or have sucky setup. Analise this little bit whit AFS (Analiser for Speed)

So I hoppe this will improve your times;

m8 try to drive XRT and RB4 they are much more fun then FXO, and it's realy superb when XRT, RB4 driver win FXO guy

P.S. see ya on track

I know the most off folks in here are using no FF (force fedback) illepall
I know the most off folks in here are using only wheels view illepall

I use Cocpit view and 55% FF on my momo

It's realy fun to oversteer and then got it whit your FF and whatch all that in car camera
@N I K I:

FF = Front Engined, Front Wheel Drive
FFB = Force Feedback
Oh yeah - and too much front ARB will destroy your lap times in the FXO. If you are understeering too much at exit, try reducing the front ARB by one click. It will mean the back will step out easier but you should be able to adjust your style to deal with that.

You need to grab hold of the FXO and understand how to stop the understeer, cant really say anything else without watching your laps

(And yes, i drive the FXO a LOT!)
One thing that I have noticed is that if I brake or turn in too early I just end up messing the whole corner. With later braking and turning later it is less likely that I press the throttle pedal too early.

But the key should be to adjust corner out with the turn-in, not the other way around

No FF AND wheel view ? People actually set up LFS to simulate a Play Station game ?

Heh, "FF" = Front engine, front wheel drive.
Yeah, as opposed to MF, or RF. illepall

First time I've heard FF=FWD.
FF=Front engine, Front wheel drive
FR=Front engine, Rear wheel drive
MR=Middle engine, Rear wheel drive
RR=Rear engine, Rear wheel drive

Simple as that, you guys haven't played enough gran turismo!

On the subject of FFB, is it a necessity? I am currently using a wheel from my xbox that I used when I played Forza. I modded it to use on my PC but I find I'm really reaching the wheel's limit when I play, it sticks to my desk with suction cups(read: wishes it stuck to my desk with said suction cups) and it's only got 270* rotation and the wheel is 8" or so in diameter. I am looking for a solid wheel with FFB and good rotation. What are the obvious choices here, I keep looking at the G25 and drooling but then I remember the ~300 price tag and cry. I've only ever used a few wheels, this madcatz xbox wheel and an old old saitek r4 ffb that won't seem to work with windows XP anymore.
I'd go for the DFP, it's a lot cheaper than the G25, but it's really good, if you have the right pedals.

And yes, FFB does make a difference, but this is not the place to discuss that, search around a bit in the hardware section and you'll get tons of info there.

What kind of pedals are right?
Revision B, but you can only tell by opening a box and looking at the seal on the pedals, so when you go out and buy one in a store, you can never be really sure. Or someone should compare barcodes on the boxes, they might be different.
