CMX importing in 3dsmax 9
Don't bug me about the search thing because I have been searching for 6 hours.illepall
I need a plugin so I can load the CMX files in 3dsmax 9. Please help

Does it (mental ray 3,5) support objects illuminate the scene? i mean you can't make really self illuminated objects on max8' mental ray. Did you try it in max9?

Just use the premade scenes they are friom max7/8 and will open in max9. If you can't use the scenes for some reason that you'll have to get someone to open the cmx in an older version and save it a max file for you.
I've just installed Max9 here at work, and I've just downloaded the FZ50 scene from DS Autos (dRSC's render warehouse). It opened fine. Just got to convert all the materials from nasty nasty Brazil to lovely lovely Vray

Also having fun rendering the CAD designs I've done over the years - it's quite amusing making a component semi-photo realistic on a computer.

Just hope the boss doesn't see me :hide:

You can have objects self illuminate in earlier Mental ray already in Max7/8

In any case 3ds 9 metal ray certainly DOES handle self illumination.

I've just been thinking about the cmx importer myself as there is no premade BF1 scene (true?).
