Slowmo teaser
Hi,

I have been inspired by (read: I ripped off) the slowmotion videos that have come out. I hope to add to this video by carrying on the song I used to include the build up and main section (its Tiesto's mix) while making the video a faster speed (gradually) with some racing action.

I am a poor student so im using fraps and movie maker "shudder" so I guess this is where the smoothness is lost cos in those other slowmo movies its super smoooooove.

How do you go about getting it that smooth!?

Actually, it's Samuel Barber's "Adagio for Strings", edited by an untalented you-know-what with a synthesizer box... (Fortunately, almost nothing is heard from the edit...)

As for the video: Slow-mo crashes... A new approach, me likes...
I recorded at 25fps at 0.125 then doubled the speed, I guess movie maker doesnt actually double the framerate?
Ill have a look for a seperate program to do that in future.

As for the song, im not a huge trance or tiesto fan but as I do the odd bit of DJ'ing I wouldnt call him untalented. And for the record Barbers original is outstanding work, thats probably why I like the trance mix
That looked kinda jerky, are you sure you got stable 25 fps while recording? If it even occasionally drops below 25 fps it makes it look jerky. Try 20 fps or even 15 fps, it doesn't really matter because you double the fps. Really smooth 30 fps looks smoother than jerky 50 fps.

You should use VirtualDub for doubling the fps (see the movie making guide sticky thread) or did you use it already? I have never used Movie Maker but I guess it doesn't add motion blur in the rendering process. That would make it look smoother.

ps. I hate all these big famous DJ guys who just take some classic song and rape it. I would use the original classical version...

fortunatly i don't think anyone got what you were trying to say. untallented? he get payed thousands for playing other peoples records. maybe if you could do the same, everyone would be calling you by the same insults :P but who am i to tell you for i know nothing also
