If you're an admin on an LFS server, and there's someone who repeatedly wrecks at T1, and just won't slow down, and won't chill, and calls everyone else names, says that the game's gay and yadayada.. when other people start getting agitated by him, what do you do?
The guy has a time-out. I'll probably shorten the duration (possibly in a drunken stupour, some time over Christmas). I usually do shorten ban durations. I don't often ban people, and I don't do it without thinking about it, but I decided that this guy's behaviour on the forum wasn't acceptable. It was just too infantile. Jaq lists a selection of people of the same age group, and I absolutely concur.. perhaps having got to know these guys, and having a tremendous respect for them and their thoughts/opinions, my expectations of others of the same age are higher than they should be.. but it's not about age. It's about, what I call, "angle of attack".
Everyone is welcome on the forum, and nobody is REQUIRED to contribute positively. When someone is determined to only post NEGATIVELY, though, I'll take action. It's not permanent (at this point) and it's just intended as an opportunity for Falcon140 to sort out his attitude. I fully expect that Falcon will reflect on the reason he was banned, and when he returns he will be a valuable and positive contributor to the forum

He had a warning, he ignored it, forums are full off opinions, and if he doesn't want to read other peoples opinions he's on the wrong forum!
This section of the forum is called "improvement suggestions". So if you're going to post a suggestion you should take into account that other people might not agree with that suggestion.

well.. have to keep in mind that this is a forum, and people will post their opinions on a subject so that anyone can get an overall understanding of why something is generally accepted or not

LFS is not a FPS, and requires the co-operation of EVERYONE involved to play fair. This goes both for the sim itself, and also for the forum. Personally directed abuse and excessively aggressive behaviour in either the game or the forum will invariably lead to consequences.
On the pre-requisite that this is understood and accepted, I'm lifting the ban.
Remember (this of course goes to everyone): SMILE, from the wrist down.
