Wow! Quicker than a 911 AND an Aston V8 Vantage!
Want to know what it is? Watch the vid!
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. You have got to laugh at that. Mind you, they were driving those cars sooo slow. Imagine that though, being overtaken by a VW Van in a GT3!! Reminds of Sabine in that Transit around the Nurburgring.

P.S. I believe that was a Aston Martin Vantage V8, not a DB9.

Quote from ajp71 :From what I worked out from the previous video that is a re-bodied 911. This is would be slightly more embarasing:

Im not so sure about a re bodied 911 but it could be but there are a fair few porsche engined vw campers about and some of them a rapid. Would of been good if they had let the can first and see how long it takes for the aston n gt3 to catch it.
How could it be a rebodied GT3? Don't they have DIFFERENT wheelbases?
The vid says it's a T1 on a T3-chassis, with a 993-engine and 993-brakes and iirc a 993 gearbox as well.

If I remember correctly the T3 had a flat-4 engine, mounted behind the rear axle, quite perfect for such a project.
The engine bay can however be increased in size into the inner room of the vehicle. Here's a small list of engines that were already fitted into T3s:

My brother restores old Volkswagens as a hobby, and they are actually quite a good brand of old cars that can be really fast. The chassis is so easy to modify and put in performance parts. This Bus probably had a really good engine to be that fast, and I bet some nice new suspension and tires. I'll be sure and send this to my brother Thanks.
