I have previsouly owned a Playstation (I knew them like the back of my hand) and a Playstation 2.

I think the X-Box and everything that Nintendo throw at Sony is crap. The Playstation is the real McCoy, The Daddy, The One. Anything Microsoft or Nintendo make is only trying to be what the Playstation is.

I will always buy Playstation's as long as they are on the shelves. But the new PS3 is getting slatted heavily. I know I will but it as soon as it goes on sale, or maybe I will wait a few months. Because Sony tend to release it, then release another version a few months later with most little bugs fixed. But I hear it will be £300 for the 60gig HDD. This time last year, Sony promised this, that and the other. What is actually inside of the PS3, I'm not sure.

But, the question is:
Will you buy the PS3?

The question is "Will You Buy" The PS3? Not, will you buy it 6 months down the line when the price is reduced. That counts as buying.

The PS3 is alright, and I know a few that have bought one already. I've played around with it and I like it.

But to be honest, I actually prefer the XBox 360 a lot more. The PS3 doesn't feel like it has evolved much... either has the 360. The only thing they've really changed in is graphics power and controller features. I still like both of the systems though... it's just the choice of games.

I still don't think the PS3 is worth the money though, nor are the games. That is why you get a 360, mod it, and go wild

If i want amazing graphics ill just use my PC, if i want something new and different for gaming ill get a Wii, i just cant see a point in getting a PS3 for me

Probably won't pick one up, at least not for a long time. My PC & PS2 satisfy my gaming needs perfectly fine.

I will bought PS3 because i'm the previous owner of PS1 and PS2(currently owned for 3 years)

Now waiting for the price at Malaysia to go down a bit. Here it cost about RM2500-3000 (In Malaysia)

I'm sure in UK/US the price is just about 300 Pounds like that.

actually ive seen the bottom end one (just the core system and controller) for £150, but yep top end stuff with everything costs near £300

So far the 360 has provided better graphics and framerates for games released on both consoles and wii announced the motion sensing long before the PS3 got its sixaxis.

The PS3 is over-priced and over-hyped. No way i will ever buy one. 360 is much cheaper provides better graphics for the current generation of games and the wii is just proof that gameplay is what counts not state of the art graphics (although they arent that bad).

Don't know where you got the £300 figure. If only.
All indications I have seen suggest that it will be around the £500 mark. Games like GTHD (or whatever it will be called) will be pay-per-car/track type deals, and it was worked out that for the same amount of content as in GT4, you will end up paying over £350 iirc. TOOO expensive, even if it is amazing to look at.

Plus are any of the currently released games really that much more impressive than some of the XBOX360 titles? Certainly not £250 better, imho.

A console for more than I've paid for my entire PC, monitor, printer, and wheel and other gaming input devices? No way. You can't race simulators on console, you can't fly simulators on console, you can't fly RC planes on console. You can't surf po... er, lfsforum on console .

That same answer as me really. I dont have a high spec gfx card but for the price of the ps3 i could get one lol. Also not been a fan of past nintendos but the wii looks interestingly different.

I'm in to buying the PS3. My neigbor has one and it's amazing.

Well la-de da, look who's Mr Mature and too old and wise for consoles.
It's all a matter of taste, but to say there are only one or two good worthwile games out on consoles is a bit silly.

I have a 360 and use it for quick pick-up games on Live or with mates, and it's just awesome. It doesn't impede on my PC gaming, it's just a different experience.

As for the PS3, I think it's turned a vessel for Sony to push their silly Blu-Ray tech, it is far too expensive and I'm a bit insulted. I may buy one if many exclusive killer apps magically appear on it, and it drops in price by 70%.

When it gets cheaper I'll probably jump in. But first I want to see how GT will be, and how people react to it.

About the graphics, I have driv3r on playstation and computer, on my computer it really looks like crap, no matter of how I set it up.

Don't play it very often, but I like the series. I also have parallell lines, and I used to have 1 and 2

After sim racing you should have to relax once in a while I also have (or had) the complete NFS series, except I don't have carbon. But that doesn't mean I like the tuning, I try to play the game without tuning, or overdoing it into silly proportions, or keep it clean and unnoticable (for as far that's possible in that game)
