Antialiasing not working
GeFore 6600 GT AGP, after a fresh format AA didn't work, reinstalled the drivers, did a fresh install right now, AA set to 8x (max), AF to 16x (also max) but the picture is still very blocky. Does anyone have an answer? It really pisses me off. The further the 'image' is, the mroe blocky it is. THe cars are all fine. And i also have some low FPS: If there isn't a practical solution i'm thinking about a reformat.

If you want to know any details, ask. THe drivers are the latest (93.71 i think).

Erm, go back to the 92.91's, or upgrade to the 97's, as the 93's a buggy, also, try going in and out of windowed mode

93.71 work fine for me. The profile manager isn't borked anymore and I can finally assign different quality to different programs. Are you setting AA and AF in global settings or in a LFS profile?
Primoz, may i ask whats your other system , CPU and RAM
A screenshot might be in order too, to see if AA gets applied at all, or if the problem lies somewhere else.
switch the resolution inside the game to another one, and switch it again to the resolution you want.

always does the trick for me
Yes, there are times where AA&AF don't get applied properly. Sometimes hitting Shift-F4 twice helps, sometimes not. If not, Alt-Tab in and out will probably fix it, though Alt-Tabbing is not recommended in general. As a last resort change resolutions back and forth, which is of course easier if you have atleast one of the Shift-[F9-F12] shortcuts assigned.

Hard to spot missing AA from a pic, it's really visible when moving. http://shrani.si/files/aa1p5cf.jpg

Still on 93.71, even though i uninstalled them and reinstalled the 92.91 (older anyways). Changing resolution didn0t help either. I'm reluctant to try newer drivers because i hear it's that stupid control pannel only.
Both screenshots look fine to me? Where do you actually see the pixellation, on the grass?

I have a 6600gt AGp to and it only supports AA 4x i thought...

Edit: My fault... I have AA 8x and AF 16x
Android the lines on the tarmac, people, trees, barriers, everywhere!
I have a 6600GT PCIe and it supports 8xAA and 16xAF. Since some newer drivers it also supports transparency AA (smoothes all "alphatest" textures, like fences), which should be set to Multisampling.

If you get grass shimmering, you should two things: First, set Negative LOD Bias to Clamp, and ingame move the Mip bias as positive as possible (I think it ranges from -4 to 0, so put it to 0). Textures in the far get less sharp, but it completely removes the shimmering and produces a much more steady and IMO better image.

Try what I said in this post, maybe it lessens your problem.

That screenshot clearly shows AA is working. The lines around the windcrseen and mirror are much smoother compared to if AA was off. Turn it off and go back into the game take another screenshot, you'll notice the difference straight away.
Yes, but the trees are horribly aliased!

EDIT: Android it works! The image is soft once again Thanks for the help.

thats just the crap tree texture!

Do you have transparency AA activated?
