Stock Cars and Oval Tracks!
What is the possibility of having a Nascar, SASCAR, SCAR of other form of stock car added to LFS?

It would be nice to also see competitive oval racing in this genre on a couple large tracks!

Just a suggestion... as most Nascar sims seem to have a massive bandwidth requirement and LFS runs just fine on the net!

[Edit Added Below]:

Oval is not JUST american... South Africa = SASCAR (with like one oval 6 tracks) - UK have their own stocks too I think! So do various other countrie.. You are all infected with oval freaks)

Cool suggestions from replies:

You think + Small Ovals (0.5mile Bristol example) <-- also those freaky banks
You think + Craftsment Truck Chassis (StockTruck?l)

I think: + add Superspeedway (topspeed track)
I think: + banked small Dirt oval (or tri-oval :: maybe even a Rectoval)
I think: + Quartermidget/Midget and Dirt Stocks(definition?)

ok youre right, we need at least 23 more vehicles
Could you imagine 42 noobs crashing, and then spamming 'soz' every 2 seconds on a 1/2mi track? OMG!
It's already perilous enough at the KY oval with 20 UF1s

I think N2003 is still far better suited to oval racing than LFS.
I'd prefer more dirt tracks and some rally cars to more tarmac and slick tyres tbh
I'd much rather tarmac rally 'stages' (as opposed to circuts) than anything.

Ovals aren't really my thang, but would give it a try if there were proper cars and a tighter oval.

Did you just say "thang" lol that made me choke on a gummy bear lol. Anyways back on topic I HATE Nascar so -1 for me. I wants some more rally tracks and the XFR with rally tires
some late models and modifieds on dirt tracks would be great imo

i grew up at a dirt track.

Completely agree, as it is now. If we would get proper ovals, proper car class, and proper options in the setup, it would be interesting to see how if fairs against NR2003.

I still love NR2003, but haven't run is since I found LFS. Maybe because LFS was the first I've tried racing online, maybe the community, maybe I'm converted completely to road courses, I don't know. One thing that having Nascar type racing in LFS may do is to broaden the US user base. That wouldn't be a bad thing.

IRL, I love Nascar the racing, I just hate what Nascar the buisiness is doing to the racing.

+1, but please use the search function!
Ever try Dirt Track Racing? Late Models, Pro-Stock, Modifieds.

Plus online play. Never tried, 'cause I had dial-up at the time.

/me goes to load it up and go online....
Dirt/small oval track racing with modifieds and late models is awsome to watch. Most of them do it for the fans and on the offdays they sometimes have demo derbies, burnout contests, trailer races, chain races, bus demos etc.

I'd like the chance to beat all you yanks and rednecks at your own game.
But we'd need the american national anthem played before the start of the warm up laps, and I mean from "Oh say can you see" all the way through to "Gentlemen, start your engines!", and of course a spotter going "Git to her, boy, ye can shure'z ol'hell take'r passs dat dang slow piece-o'-junk, 'slong as ye keep'r from wreckin' ya"

It'll be fun... I'll teach how to bumpdraft. That's running up against others without the intention of passing them or spinning them out (unless your name is Dale Earnhardt Jr, and there's a certain guy by the name of Carl Edwards in front of you... Then you wreck 'm). Unlike the other running up and bumping others you described in the other thread (just having a go at you, I'm bored without the STCC servers)

I know what bumpdrafting is, I might look stupid, but for the rest I'm nothing like you

Got kinda bored too, need a holiday break, it'll get better after new year! Then I have my real license and I can go wrecking on the real roads!!

If we would get those cars, there would be no reason to pay for Nascar sims. So I think this is off!
