PS2 Wheel?
Hello..I am thinking about getting the hook-up for the PS2 wheel to the computer...My wheel I have is a MadCatz MC2 Professional Gamers Series...and i was wondering if its any good with lfs? Its set-up for Xbox, PS2, and GameCube.. here is what it looks like http://www.madcatz.com/Default ... egoryImg=Universal_Wheels

I have been wondering what it is like for it..so if its any good im gonna go out and buy the adaptor.
I have that wheel... And a connector for the PC (a Venom one) and it didnt seem to work well at all with LFS so i just sorta forgot about it lol

from the site - "The Universal MC2 Racing Wheel is simply the most realistic racing wheel on the market."

It's an ok wheel for the price it is at. If i can remember, it was only £20... Definitely not the best wheel though.
I got it from Wal-mart here in the USA for about $50
Either get an adaptor or, if you feel like using any electrical skills you have, a book by the name of Gaming Hacks has a guide to doing this - it's also got some interesting stuff but some of it is kinda hardcore (making a PC look like a JAMMA cabinet, anyone?).
Hmm i might look into that....but i dont want to screw up my wheel i just got it about 2 months ago..
I can pretty much guarantee you that it will not be the best choice. If you've got the money (or your parents have time to run out and grab that last Christmas gift) get a proper PC wheel. (Logitech G25 is a good choice )

In a sense it is more realistic (but not by far the most or realistic). That Madcatz wheel after all even vibrates. That Ecci is a ridiculously expensive wheel that just turns and has a spring or some such that makes the turning harder
I'll put money on the forces required to press the pedals & turn the weel on the ECCUI is incredibly close to those required on a racing car, with the force feedback being equally accurate.

Yes they are very expensive - but it is realistic and thats what was mentioned.

I'll give you that when you're on normal conditions. How about driving on grass, gravel, snow or ice? Or when you spin or oversteer?

That I don't believe. How does it have force feedback when all it has is some fluid thingy making resistance to the wheel?

Must be.

It definately doesnt have FF, quote from website -

Quote :At ECCI, our position is that force feedback steering wheel effects in racing simulations are purely gaming effects and do not reflect a real world experience. Although they may be of some use to those who can read them, they most often are disruptive to control for someone relying on their real world driving instincts. Drawing on real world racing experience, we at ECCI understand that tire feedback and vehicle collision effects do not primarily manifest themselves in steering wheel reactions.

However after reading all the info on the tech, Im intrigued
Not that Id consider paying that much for a wheel without a lottery win, but Id like to have a go on one

ECCI are nice, but i'd take a Frex kit, thank you!
